Location: Getty's Peak
after looting the armory in Icefang Fortress, Party crosses hallway into a barracks full of sleeping kobolds
- Zaz attempts to sneak past them but bumps into one of the beds, waking up the whole room
- Skjorn has a wild magic surge and regains all of his spell slots
the barracks connect to a larger room in the back, where Zaz finds a large key under the bed
- Party also notices a secret door behind the bookshelf, which opens into a secret room
- the secret room has only candles, an altar, and a +2 shield, which Dibrael takes
Party uses the key on the giant locked doors in the hallway, which leads to the dragon's lair
- the lair is covered in ice, and in the center is a large pile of gold and gems upon which a white dragon sits
- a kobold is attempting to shout over the whipping winds in the room to speak to the dragon
Skjorn walks right in, announcing Party's presence to the enemies, and proceeds to flirt with the dragon
- Skjorn rolls a nat 20 and succeeds on a DC 25 persuasion check
- the dragon introduces himself as Ulthurus and flirts back, showing enthusiastic interest
- Ulthurus asks if the rest of Party will be joining their night of fun; Ivan, not reading the room, pulls out his weapon and shouts "YES!"
Skjorn suggests Ulthurus stop bothering the villagers and Ulthurus asks, "Why should I?"
- Zaz says if he doesn't stop, he can't sleep with Skjorn
- Skjorn argues that Ulthurus should target nobles instead, as they have more treasure, and tells him about his own parents
- Zaz remembers that they still need the village's prized artifact and offers up Skjorn in exchange for it
- Ulthurus says "you have a deal"
Ulthurus digs through his treasure, allowing Ivan to help until they find the artifact
- afterward, Ulthurus swallows his hoard and flies through the hole in the ceiling, knocking everyone down with the flap of his wings
- the kobold sits awkwardly in the corner, silent and shocked
on the way out of the fortress, Ivan grumbles about not getting to kill the dragon
- Party passes by the kobold that Skjorn forgot he flirted with; the kobold questions him about their plans for later
- the kobold feigns being hurt before laughing it off and telling Skjorn to have fun
Party returns to the village and delivers the news and relic
- Ivan's sister Kira rewards Party with 1,000gp each
- Mylz also receives a magical tattoo that increases her AC
complete quest: Defeat the Dragon Cult
that night, Skjorn returns to the fortress to meet with Ulthurus
- Jorlan follows him to make sure Skjorn gets there and back safely; he doesn't participate
Party eats breakfast with the villagers before walking back to Mithral Hall
