Location: Silverymoon
after a stressful encounter with his parents, Skjorn seeks closure by visiting his nanny's family
- Skjorn leads Party to the edge of the city, populated mostly by farmers
- Skjorn asks around for leads on his nanny's family and everyone knows exactly who he means; her name was literally Nanny
Party heads to Nanny's family home, stuffed full of friendly halflings
- Nanny's daughter, Tanny, invites them all in without knowing who they are at first
- the house is cluttered with a low ceiling, so Zaz almost knocks something over with his wings several times
Tanny takes everything in stride and calls for the rest of the family
- Party meets her brothers: Lanny, Manny, Janny, and Bob (he's adopted), as well as her unnamed husband and children
- they're all excited to finally meet Skjorn, since Nanny often talked about him fondly
- Tanny leads most of the children (some linger behind) to the kitchen to bake pie for the guests
- Manny says that when they heard the Björnssons kicked out their son, they tried to find him
- though they don't have much, they wanted to take Skjorn in
Party mingles for a few hours; the halflings make excellent hosts and love to entertain
- Skjorn comments on the drows' hotness; the halflings appreciate his "humor"
- the children are fascinated by Derendil and like petting his fur
- at the end of the day, the family tells Skjorn he's always welcome back
the next day, Party is getting ready to continue their journey
- Jorlan buys some books on learning Common; he and Derendil will practice together, and Shoor will roughly pick it up by being in the background
in the market, a half-elf noble recognizes Skjorn
- she and Skjorn are around the same age and grew up near each other, but were never really friends
- still, she asks for a favor:
- her parents have set up an arranged marriage with her childhood bully, and she wants Party to find a socially acceptable reason for her to call off the wedding (or force her fiancé to)
Party finds the fiancé at a park and startles him, making him drop his sandwich
- Skjorn picks the sandwich off the ground and eats it; Jorlan is disgusted, Shoor is laughing
- Party takes turns attempting to reason with/intimidate/threaten the man to call off the marriage
- the fiancé assumes Party is a group of hired thugs
- Skjorn offers to sleep with him if he calls off the wedding, which offends him
Zaz suggests that Shoor pants the guy
- Shoor threatens the man in Elvish, which comes off seductive, causing the man to pop a boner
- the man agrees to call off the marriage if Party will just stop harassing him
- Zaz tells Shoor he was successful, and Shoor pantses the man anyway as a reward to himself
- Dibrael, in a genuine attempt to apologize, embarrasses the man further by pulling his pants back up for him
later, Party meets with the noblewoman again for payment
- she thanks them for their help, even though it was... unconventional
Party finally departs from Silverymoon
- Mylz starts to teach Shoor which berries are safe to eat; he specifically takes notes on which ones can kill people
