The Conservation Authority, also known as ConAuth, is a branch of the Autarchy's government that has seen great expansion in recent years as princesses Nihnsahiid and Mhissain took great interest in animals and ecology.
ConAuth has many subdivisions, fulfilling aspects of environmental protection agency, conservation, resource management and regulation, and supervision of natural parks and reserves. Its biggest project is likely taking over the management of Jamosom after Mhissain became the heir of Kalmoro. One of its more controversial projects is the maintenance of Opal's remaining population of Great Ones, which Mhissain classified as endanger of extinction as she might a rare bird or fish on Gamagdhi or Koyo Isu.
This organization fulfills a similar niche as the Sunbird's League of the Road, though it does not have as explicit of a mission statement to share its information with those outside its sphere of influence, and it is not interested in technology outside of technology that could be used for the purpose of conservation and sustainable energy. The League is also much more focused on exploration, particularly of space, and particularly of reconnecting with lost systems. The public expects that ConAuth and League sites will likely often become joint sites of research due to Mhissain and the Sunbird's personal relationship.
