Calphost was a god of Maradul and a child of Keiva who once ruled over the great mountains of the world, and guided the Callites to greatness before his death by the machinations of the One Betwixt. In life, Calphost was known as the god of the Winds, and was a patron of craftsmen. His well-tempered nature and innate kindness was widely known, and he had a special fondness for flying creatures.
Calphost's death created a catastrophic rift in Maradul, leading to a number of consequences, mostly notably the understanding that the children of Keiva were not truly immortal. Without Calphosts presence to broker peace between the Callites and the beasts of the Otraglith, the beasts, under the leadership of Agnahei, drove the Callites from the mountains and into the depths of the earth, where they were taken in by Xuriath.
