The Keepers of the Golden Sky, colloquially known as the Keepers, Mage Hunters, or Blue Capes, are a regimented, cult-like order of warriors that serve the Stars' Edicts, the basic laws of reality that were created by the god Sevantus when he shaped Maradul out of the chaos of the Great Mist. In Sevantus's stead, the organization seeks to enforce his original designs in order to impede the approach of the Starless Entropy, an inevitable future that will result in the dismantling of the stars and the return of Maradul to the Great Mist. The Keepers believe that despite this inescapable fate, the time in which order still reigns is infinitely precious, beautiful, and must be preserved for as long as possible. In service of their ideals, the Keepers ruthlessly hunt down those who break the Stars' Edicts, usually through magic or the influence of the Mists, as these infractions will eventually culminate in the destruction of the lawful world. They are generally easy to recognize by way of their blue capes, which are embroidered with golden threads that depict the constellations of the night sky.
While the Keepers aim to enforce the laws of reality, they generally care very little for the laws created by the denizens of Maradul. Keepers callously destroy their enemies and cross through borders with little regard for local rules and customs, intent only on serving their own goals. While Keepers may observe certain regulations in order to complete their missions with minimal interference, very rarely do they respect them.
It is important to note that Keepers of the Golden Sky do no worship Sevantus himself, only the order he created. While many of the order see him as a visionary or a genius, his work is seen as more important.
