Coal Wolfsblood

Lord

Despite being considered by many to be one of the most powerful figures in the Realms, little is known about Coal's life prior to his marriage to Lady Kalista Debrujar and his ascent to his current position; something which Coal himself seems distinctly uninterested in changing. He grew up somewhere in the The Great Forest, seemingly during a time in which it would have been impossible for anyone not of the forest's native cultures to have been allowed to live within its borders, yet it is no secret that he claims no particular connection to the Merro Elves nor is he one of their number. Other than his Realm of origin, nothing more of note is known until he appeared at Kalista's side during the founding of The Hub, quietly supporting her efforts though he claimed no place of leadership at the time.

In the early years of The Hub's establishment, most assumed him to simply be Lady Kalista's bodyguard as he was seldom seen far from her side and any danger that may have arisen to threaten her or the city was quickly matched by his incredible skill with a bow. Often thought to be unfriendly and standoffish by most, those few who made the effort to get to know his discovered that was simply a mask to hide the surprisingly shy person beneath. It came as a shock to many in The Hub and beyond when, several years after the city's founding, Lady Kalista announced that they were to be married and even more so when she further stated that he would come to lead the city at her side.

While there were many in The Hub who worried over what this change would mean for the future of the city, they would soon discover their fears to be unfounded. Though to this day, none would say that anyone other than the Lady Kalista is the true political powerhouse of The Hub, Coal would prove himself to both be a surprisingly effective administrator as well as a force of calm and stability amidst the mess that Hub politics can often be. In his years leading at Kalista's side, he's developed a reputation as being good-natured and true to his word as well as bearing little patience (or adeptness) for the intricacies of high-society and the politics that surround it; something that has made him rather more loved amongst the regular people of The Hub as opposed to those who move in the city's upper echelons.

Since his return to The Hub following his and Lady Kalista's mysterious disappearance, Lord Coal has turned his attentions primarily to the rebuilding of the infrastructure that once operated in The Hub which allowed nearly all who lived within it's walls to lead comfortable lives, but that damage the Gallus's lust for power has dealt to both the city's coffers and the goodwill of its people has been greater than many thought.
