Dragon/Spirits of the Elements, Life, Death, and Rebirth

Description: The Dragon Spirits are an old philosophy that say the world was created in the conflict between two great primordial dragons, Asha, Dragon of Order, and Urgash, Dragon of Chaos.

Asha gave birth to the six elemental dragons: Elrath, Malassa, Sylanna, Arkath, Ylath and Shalassa.

After the conflict and formation of the world, the two creator dragons faded away, and the six elemental dragons were bound beyond the veil, only able to appear in the world as spirits and visions.

Sar-Elam was a mortal wizard who managed to reach enlightenment and contact the consciousness of Asha, becoming the immortal Dragon-Sage.

Dogma

Followers of the Immortal Dragon Spirits believe in an endless cycle of Life, Death, and Rebirth. An opportunity to for all to live, learn, and ascend to enlightenment. One of the greatest sorrows of this faith is for someone to be stricken from the wheel, to be lost, and lose all chance of rebirth.

Asha renders the fate of all mortal beings—she spins forth their destiny upon their birth, measures it throughout their time in the physical world, and then embraces their life force upon death. Asha is neutral; she shows favor to neither good nor evil men. She does not bless any race above another, all stand before her in equal measure, much like she's does to her children. She does, however, hold her insane twin brother, the Dragon of Chaos, in eternal disdain and is opposed to the principles that drive both him and the demons, the beings he created to oppose her own.

Tenets Of The Faith

  • All are equal in the Eyes of Asha.
  • Assist all in fulfilling their purpose, set chaos into form and give meaning to potential.
  • Care for the world, it is our mother and our father.
  • Demons and Fiends are the enemies of Order.

Asharian Info from Wisteria, Naga Priestess

Sorpigal Island

During a discussion with the Asharian Naga Priestess Wisteria, the following information was gained:

  • The physical forms of the six children of left the world long ago, in order to protect it from the minions of Urgash.
  • It is Wisteria's belief that although Asha is also a spirit, as the motivating force for the creation of the world, her life is the life of the world.
  • Asha is neutral, showing favor to neither good nor evil, but she does consider Urgash, her insane brother beyond redemption for his devouring of souls.
  • Demons are the main minions of Urgash's, with various nabassu fiends as his primary servants, although any creature he can subvert to chaos and evil is fair game.
  • Exceptional Kirin have been known to heralds of Asha.
  • The six dragon children of Asha each have their own favored herald, Arkath (Fire elemental), Elrath (Humanoids, light celestials), Malassa (Shadow Demons), Shalassa (Naga), Sylanna ( Earth Elementals, Dryads), and Ylath (dragonkin).
  • It is said that the River Dragon Kings of the far off Kaminion of Aratur, represent nature and rule various domains to this day, and that they are either children of Asha returned, or descended from them.
