Bards are taught a type of magic that some scholars think predates or forms the basis for, arcane magic. Bardic magic is mainly subtle, and deals with sounds, words, and enchantments that strike a chord with the weave of the world.
Four main Prestigious Bardic Colleges
Bardic lore and traditions abound across the continent of Alyndrica, but the original colleges were founded years ago in the lands of the Feudal Kingdoms and Sidheon.
Each of the four main colleges is dedicated to and represents the precepts of its training and style, Lore, Valor, Glamour, and Swords. (While there are rumors of a fifth college, there is no school or college apparently dedicated to such.)

- College of Ellendaede (valor) (Sidheon, Treyvayne)
- College of Glyderinga (glamour) (near Faerwych Forest)
- College of Byrnsweord (sword) (Sidheon, Revals)

Many smaller schools or universities of bardic lore will have one school primary, with another as secondary. Such as the University Denlara-Byrnsweord in Landfall (Lore/Sword), or the Imperial College Ellendaede-Denlara (Valor/Lore).
