Not a lot is known of the Centarian age empires (CE), as much history was lost or destroyed during the Wesharian civil war and the following dark ages.  What is known is there was about a half dozen countries/kingdoms established in the area of the Aes Draconis sea.  The origin of these kingdoms even pre-date the rise of Wenshar, although by the end of the 2nd half of the Centarian age, the Wensharian Empire had grown and annexed or absorbed most of them.

The first known kingdom of the Centarian age was the kingdom of Asharia.  Asharia lay across the bay of Falco, and was a large peninsula that abutted the Dragon Sea.  The land was reputedly a pleasant area of rolling hills forests, and meandering streams.  The people of Asharia had many features similar to humans, but claimed to be descended on one side from dragons.  With their faith in the dragon spirits and the bountiful fruits of the land, the kingdom prospered.  The original Asharians were soon joined by a satyr type species called the Ibex.  The Ibex with their sylvan culture blended seamlessly into the culture and kingdom, and they all proudly called themselves Asharians.

Tar Nova was the second kingdom to rise to dominance in the Centarian era.  Sailing on ships from the west (across the Sea of Stars) the Tar Novans settled initially in the area of the eastern shores of Vermis Bay, in the southern lands known as Sunaria in this day and age.  Strong in magic and will power, the Novians were a maritime power that spread west and east along the coastlines, and even eventually colonized an island near the center of Vermis bay.  Upon this island they built the shining towers of a city to be known as Istia.

Eventually the kingdoms of Asharia and Tar Nova, along with other races and small cities within the area, formed an alliance known as the Novian Protectorate.  Jointly covering the area from the Vermis bay to Falco Bay, the five main cultures of the area (Novans, Asharians, Ibex, Naga, and Rakasta) formed a peaceful and prosperous unity.

About 500 years later, contact was made with a rapidly growing empire from the north, led by the kingdom of Wenshar, an alliance powerful in both troops and magic that had been taming the wilderness in their area, and was now expanding.

Details on the remaining history of the Centarian Empires and the Novian Protectorate grow slightly confusing about this time.  The Ibex developed an ideological split with Asharia, and left the kingdom, most returning to their homelands in the hill forests, while others plotted and schemed the downfall of the remainder of Asharia.  A massive catastrophe hit the island of Istia, wiping it (say the legends) from the face of the earth.  These two events, while possibly not simultaneous, none the less caused the breakup of the Novian Protectorate.  a large portion of the Tar Nova populace fled north and settled in the semi-arid lands, getting assistance from and eventually joining the Wensharian Empire.  The conflict between Asharia and Labyris erupted into total warfare, with Labyris eventually flooding much of Asharia and destroying their civilization.  Victorious, Labyris began the rule of what the called "The Dominion of Chaos".

Eventually, after recovering from disaster, and realizing the threat, Wensharia and Tar Nova began to war against Labyris, a time known at the Chaos wars.  Eventually the combined might of the Tar Novan fleets and the eminent magic power of Wensharia won them the war against Labyris, leaving a landscape altered by combat, magic, and chaos.
