The Iron mountains are a pair of large mountains that overlook the the northern edge of Vermis Sea and the mouth of the Istian straits. The peaks are so named for their iron coloration and unweathered appearance. Legend states that the Iron mts will stand until the end of the world. Legend also states that the sage of the Iron mts makes his home on the flank of the southern peak, a fact I will neither confirm nor deny. An unbroken granite road leads along the pass between the two mts, one end disappearing into the Syldain swamp, the other into the sand swept shore of Vermis sea.
