This forest is the northernmost of three forests that comprised the ancient sylvan forest ages ago. Bandits hide in the edges along the trade route, while communities of gnomes lie scattered within the forest. Many sylvan creatures such as sprites, dryads, and fairies can be found dwelling there also. Other more dangerous creatures are also known to be lurking in the forest, to include at least one green dragon. Portions of the forest can be dangerous to intruders, perhaps a shadow of ancient times when the forest ruled itself. Also there is a hilly area known as the Barrows, possibly remnants of the Man/Elf wars.
