Fairstead

Fairstead is a burgeoning settlement situated in the southernmost region of the Speserij, governed by House Tur’meric. The town is experiencing rapid growth, transforming from a modest village into a bustling hub for trade and new settlers. It sits on an old site, with layers of history buried beneath its streets, providing both opportunities and challenges for its inhabitants.

Key Locations

Town Locations:

Market Square: The heart of Fairstead with various stalls and shops around the perimeter. This is where the main market and trade activities take place.

Town Hall: North of the market square, where the mayor’s office is located and town meetings are held.


Taverns:


Blacksmith’s Forges: Located on the edge of the market square, recognizable by the constant clang of metal and billowing smoke.



Workshops and Artisans: Clustered near the market square, where various craftsmen and traders have their shops.


Farms and Fields: Surrounding Fairstead, particularly to the north and east, providing food and resources to the town.


Future Dock Site: Planned expansion area near the river to support larger trading vessels.


Palisades and Watchtowers: Wooden structures around the perimeter, especially on the southern and eastern sides, to protect against potential threats from the forest or wildlands.


Residential Areas:

Old Town: The older part of Fairstead where long-term residents live. The houses here are well-established and built from sturdy materials.

New Settlements: On the outskirts, where newer arrivals have set up temporary camps and hastily built homes.

Camp Two: The designated area for new arrivals and the party's initial housing, located on the eastern side, near the new settlements.


Other Notable Locations:

  • Elarian River: Flowing along the south western edge of Fairstead, providing water and trade routes. A small fishing dock and sprawling farmlands are located here.
  • Fairstead Ruins: Scattered remains of the old settlement, some partially overgrown, hinting at a previous settlement in the town’s ancient history.
  • Sildurvalen: Stretching along the horizon south east of the town. Dense and mysterious, often the subject of local legends and cautionary tales.
