I must admit that I am surprised that quest went as well and as smooth as it did. Pleasantly surprised. The team has successfully determined what has been happening in Welton, and has smoothed things over with the populous. The farmers seem (mostly) pleased, and the wolves are subdued for the time being.
I have sent a lower level guild representative to monitor the situation for the time, but intel and research suggests that the wolves were 'awakened' by the local wizard Alexi Merrikson. Mr. Merrikson was a novice wizard that protected the village from goblin raiders, but also had a reputation for being a somewhat of a disaster. It does look like he cast a spell meant to drive the wolves off, but instead it made him vanish and them intelligent. Two of them gaining more intelligence and the ability to cast spells - bolt and flame.
When the team first set out, it was their intent to trap the wolves, like common predatory animals. Though after speaking with the injured farmer Willen Feathercock there was some question on whether or not we were dealing with lycanthropes or not. Willen had indicated that the wolves could talk, a sure sign of lycanthropy. Turns out they were merely magically enhanced.
With the help of Corel a local farmer and the head of the fleecers guild, we did lure out the wolves eventually, including the Alphas. Regrettably two wolves died in our confusion, after another had escaped with one of Corels sheep. Our rat got a little blood thirsty, and again I will admit that I am surprised that it was the rat and not the goblin.
Eventually the group went to convince the council that it was a good idea to negotiate with the wolves and her is where Mr. Scabbs did show a bit of his true color as he scarred a council member so badly that he ran from the inn. Though the others were convincing enough... though I must say that drinking a council member under the bar is not the way I would go about convincing a humanoid that something was good for them. I really do not understand dwarves. I am after all a housecat.
Last I heard, the talks were going well enough, however tillus Merrion, one of the council members, decided that he could not work with the wolves and is seeking his fortunes elsewhere. Flame is also not convinced that the agreement is to her liking, but for now she is content to watch. We to will keep an eye on the situation from afar.
The team will meet again after some well deserved rest in a few days to talk about the next quest and opportunity to do good in our community.

OOC:
Well played session everyone, I really enjoyed it and I too am pleasantly surprised on how smoothly things went. The drinking game was a highlight for me as well, I was really hoping to win for my barmaid. Oh well.
Here are some OOC notes:
- You are all awarded 940 xp each for the entire adventure.
- Keep working on your character building, I see some things really starting to shine through - hopefully we can do a character backstory session soon.
- Make sure that you are giving all your team mates a chance to shine - it can be easy to steal the spotlight. On the flip side of that, those of you sitting on the sideline need to find your ins as well. If you are having a hard time remember you can always talk to me and I will help out.
