Getting Started

Jedi Order: New Era is a Star Wars themed meta-campaign set after the death of the Emperor and focusing on the rebuilding of the Jedi Order. We use the Star Wars RPG (Fantasy Flight Games) system and are welcoming to players with all ranges of experiences with both the system and meta-campaigns in general. Our stories will diverge from both the Legends and Disney timeline to allow our players to be surprised with all kinds of new stories and give our gamemasters the freedom to tell them.

A meta-campaign is an overarching story that connects and influences an entire world through the use of multiple different stories running concurrently. Think of it as a grand narrative that unfolds as a large number of players participate in various sessions. Each session you sign up for is a piece of the larger puzzle, where your choices not only impact your own adventure but also shape the course of the entire campaign. This may seem intimidating, but don't worry if you're unfamiliar with the concept or the system (Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG) we're using. We're here to make this journey together, whether you are experienced, or inexperienced.

As players, you'll have the opportunity to sign up for sessions posted by the Game Master (GM). These sessions can take you to different planets, put you in the middle of thrilling battles, or immerse you in deep conspiracies. Your actions in each session will have consequences that ripple across the galaxy, affecting the storylines of other players and the overall direction of the campaign.

These kind of changes can be small at first, but over the course of a dozen stories, the meta-campaign begins to take shape and factions can shift in power significantly leading to ramifications everyone has to deal with one way or another. For example the players may rescue an imprisoned scientist from a remnant system. The mission can conclude in one session or several, depending on player choices. How they rescue the scientist and who they do it for will impact the meta-plot.

Example

For instance, a daring raid could liberate many prisoners and result in the firing or even death of an imperial official. Regardless, the outcome affects the meta-plot. Future missions in the region could reference these events, and ramifications like the Naboo Economic Assembly obtaining revolutionary technology could be seen in other battles as prototypes are deployed.

Currently, the Jedi Order has established a stable presence on Dantooine, with numerous Jedi dispersing throughout the galaxy. Despite this, the era is marked by ongoing turmoil. Various factions within the Imperial Remnant engage in internal disputes, each seeking to enhance its political influence and consolidate power within their alliance. Concurrently, the Imperial Knights undertake journeys across imperial territories to uphold law and order. Meanwhile, the New Republic continues its efforts to reconstruct its infrastructure following the devastation of the core regions in the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War. Amidst these developments, malevolent forces gather in the shadows, heralding a resurgence of the dark side's influence across the galaxy.

First, read over the Character Creation section and then, when you're ready, you can fill out our Application Form. After submitting your application, staff will review your character and responses and work with you if needed to make sure that your character is fully fleshed out and ready to play. The final step of joining JONE is to have an interview with the leadership team to help us get to know you better and to make sure JONE is the right fit for you.
