Samara Wincott (Mentor)

Jedi Knight

“Life is fleeting, grab the Reek by the horns.”

Backstory

Telosian native who joined up with the Imperial Navy once she reached the age of service. Bought into the Empire's propaganda and served a ten year long career of meritorious service. She began as a TIE/LN pilot and after outclassing a Rebel ace was given special orders to join a TIE/IN unit. During the last five years as the GCW reached its fever pitch, Samara reached a point where she could no longer ignore the Empire's blatant crimes against not just their enemies, but their own people. Transferring her sizable sum of credits to an alternate account and discarding her chain code she fled into the Outer Rim territories to disappear from the world. She was found by Luke when necessity forced her to take to the skies once more as a Privateer, attacking and commandeering merchant vessels and selling their cargo. A counter ambush set up by Red Squadron with Luke at the helm found her in a dogfight with the Jedi Master that ultimately led to her defeat. Sensing her potential, Luke offered her a place among the Order, to train and guide the next generation.

Appearence
Brunette hair tied up in a bun, sharp green eyes, dresses more like a spacer than a Jedi and wears her custom-fitted Imperial navy boots.
Personality
Samara is a straightforward, no nonsense type of person. Retaining many traits of her time in service, she expects to be treated with and given the due respect of her position as a knight within the Order. That said she isn’t one to shy away from risky plays and actively encourages others to make the most of their life. She shies away from overtly intimate relationships but demonstrates her care and devotion to her students through diligent mentoring.
Skillset & Role
Samara is an ace pilot rivaled only by the Grandmaster himself. Despite her forward and somewhat aggressive style she has opted for mastery of Form III, Soresu. While by no means a politico, years spent under Imperial bureaucracy gives her a dab hand at navigating social situations, particularly where military custom is observed.

Background info, GM only, The Angel of Alui

Samara was stationed near Naboo prior to her desertion, here she earned the callsign "Angel" in the events described below

The Raid on Alui Shipyard, 1 Month after the Battle of Yavin

A rebel strike group, seeking to disrupt the refit of several Imperial capital ships at the onset of the disasterous Mid Rim Offensive, assaults the small civilian run shipyard over Alui IV. It began with a feint. A corvette escorted by a pair of starfighters attacked the shipyard. A large number of the stationed TIEs chased them into a rebel ambush behind the nearby moon. The only survivors of that ambush were Raven 2-3 and her wingman Raven 2-4. Though the exact details of the encounter are sketchy, Raven 2-4 credited his wingwoman Lt. Samara Wincott with shooting down 9 of the 15 destroyed Rebel craft. Allowing them both to escape the ambush and be reinforced by Xiphos squadron and the *Malevolent Compliance*. The rebel strike group was soon routed. Notably Raven 2-3 was credited with an additional 3 shootdowns. It was believed by some that this TIE interceptor pilot and her wingman were all that allowed the remobilization of dozens of imperial capital ships in order to properly counter the rebellions offensive.
