“Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty!”
Backstory
Born to a relatively uneventful life on Ardennia, Zalen quickly left his homeworld in his younger years as he chased the thrill and adrenaline that the galaxy and its many diverse worlds offered. Rather than the typical piloting job his parents may have wanted for him, Zalen became a swoop racer, travelling the circuits everywhere and anywhere he could. Win, lose, it mattered in the moment, but at the end of the race, all that mattered to him was that he’d been in it.
He pursued fast solutions and stimulation everywhere he went, going through all sorts of spice, six swoop races, and four girlfriends, all in one weekend back home on Ardennia. Naturally, he chased the thrills of underground and illegal races with the same fervour, uncaring of the danger he put himself or others in. Zalen lived fast and intended to die just as swiftly, not wanting to live to see his hair grey and his body slow down. Despite his risk taking, he was lucky time and time again, always seeming to avoid the worst potential crashes and never having a bad reaction to any of the myriad drugs he took. For decades, he lived the same way, and didn’t even notice those greying hairs and slowing muscles.
One night, he was challenging people to drinking contests and drinking them under the table as usual, when a large, mysterious figure joined in. Taking their challenge, Zalen was shocked to see that they didn’t struggle like the others did, and he was determined to not back down. At least, he’s pretty sure that’s what it was. He blacked out at some point and lost the drinking contest, but the stranger stayed for when he woke up, to explain that they were a Jedi, and that he had a life he could live beyond cheap thrills; doing good for the galaxy while still getting the excitement he craved. How could he turn down a deal like that?

Personality
He is likely to finish a lesson with students and then take them off racing, carting, doing some kind of competitive sport, even skydiving or competitive eating. They are young, and should enjoy their youth. Not that age has ever stopped him.
Skillset & Role
Zalen believes in working hard and playing hard with the same enthusiasm. He is one of the biggest proponents that while one ought to spend their life doing good and the best they can, it should be as much fun as it can be in the process. Zalen is a person who likes to solve problems fast, and he likes to solve them mischieviously. He is not the type of Jedi to spend a while studying a problem or researching, nor is he the type to want to carry out long, drawn out negotiations. That isn’t to say he won’t do them, but he likes to spice them up in some way, whether that’s doing extra research on a swoop gang by racing with them or inviting the opposite diplomat to go to a dance club with him. For issues that require a more delicate touch, Zalen tries to solve them quiet and sneakily, and encourages students towards discretion, and to avoid fights; he often thinks they aren’t worth the trouble, until they are.
