This section will cover any major updates to the character's story as the campaign unfolds.
- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Raskt left his clan at the ripe age of fifteen to travel the galaxy as a wandering bounty hunter. Starting as an apprentice to an older Trandoshan hunter from the same clan, he spent the first two years learning the ins and outs of taking bounties, taking care of equipment, and other nuances of the profession. After that, he struck out on his own. Starting with simpler contracts from various official governments, Raskt found steady employment traveling around the galaxy taking jobs from the New Republic, the Imperial Boards of Moffs, and other official governments. It was here that he first met a Jedi who took note of Raskt's sensitivity to the force and invited him to visit the Order. Raskt's visit proved productive and he joined as an initiate shortly after. - Why does your character want to be a jedi? For Raskt, being a Jedi gives him the most opportunities to gather points as he will be traveling the galaxy defeating evildoers and serving the people.
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? Raskt comes from a clan of Trandoshans that have a unique interpretation of the Scorekeeper and the Jagannath points. Instead of kills, Jagannath points were earned by collecting "trophies" either taken or earned. "Earned trophies" could be anything given as a payment for a task or deed as long as the task was dedicated to the Scorekeeper. "Taken trophies", on the other hand, are physical trophies taken from defeating an enemy which could be their head but can also include personal weapons, a coat, or something along those lines. This meant that Raskt and his clansmen could essentially "farm" their enemies by sparing them and allowing them to recover in order to defeat them again. Like the traditional view of Jagannath points, the more prestigious or difficult a trophy was to acquire, the higher its value in "points" would be.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? While Raskt never met his biological parents, he was raised by Crashu, a "professional parent" who raised him in the ways of the clan, including their view of the Scorekeeper and the Jagannath points.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character? Due to his clan's unique interpretation of how a Trandoshan can acquire points, Raskt is inclined to spare those he can and help where there is opportunity to do so. However, his intentions are ultimately selfish as he spares and assists in the hopes of gathering more points, not for the benefit of the galaxy.
- Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? To Raskt, the Force is a tool of the Scorekeeper, much like how a hunter may have a bow or net. As such, Trandoshans with access to the force are "blessed" hunter, favored by the Scorekeeper to lend her tool to them.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? None.
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical?
The contradiction between the Jedi philosophy and Raskt's religion and how he comes to reconcile the two is the part I'm excited to explore. He knows who he is and he knows the Force exists. He doesn't fully understand what the Force is though and has a misinterpretation of its relationship with the Scorekeeper and the Game.
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? I'm planning on a teched out brawler who makes his own weapons and armor. As such, I'll be investing in brawl and mechanics.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? As Raskt joined the Jedi for the potential opportunity to gain more points, it is possible to tempt Raskt to stray from the light by offering him opportunities to gain even more points by leaving the Order.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Initiate.
