ViVi (PC)

Padawan
  1. Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Vivi arrived at the Order's doorstep shortly after its reformation, a small girl of about eight years old with deep purple skin, dark flowing hair, and striking emerald-green eyes. She had appeared seemingly out of nowhere, her origins shrouded in mystery. Witnesses claimed to have seen a cloaked figure leaving the child outside the Jedi Temple on Dantooine the night before she was discovered, but who they were—or why they abandoned her there—remained unknown. It was soon discovered that Vivi was Force-sensitive, and she was formally welcomed into the Order.

Little was known about Vivi’s past. When questioned, she could recall only vague, fleeting memories of a loving family—warm but hazy, as if obscured by fog. The only detail that stood out clearly was her name: Vivi. With no last name and no family to claim her, the Order became her new home. Yet, for Vivi, the transition was fraught with unease. Doubts lingered in her heart like shadows. Why had her family left her? Was it something she had done? Was there something wrong with her? Though she tried to bury these questions, they never truly faded, haunting her even as she adjusted to her new life.

As the years passed, Vivi grew into a lively and energetic young girl. She leaned into humor and mischief, finding joy in entertaining others with card tricks, dice games, and other playful antics. Her boundless energy and hyperactive nature made her a constant presence among her peers, always seeking companionship and activity. Beneath her cheerful exterior, however, was a deeper fear—an ever-present scar from her abandonment. Vivi dreaded being left alone again, her heart still weighed down by the unanswered questions and lingering wounds of her past.

  2. Why does your character want to be a jedi? Vivi wants to be a jedi, because it's the only life she's ever known. Her memories of her life before the order are hazy at best--and was hence forth raised at the order since a young age. To her, it's simply the path the force laid out to her.

  3. Are there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places) that were more formative to your character’s current personal development?  The most important thing is how she was effectively left at the order's doorstep--from her perspective abandoned by her family (and with a strange lack of memories as to who they are). This has left Vivi with a bit of a abandonment complex, as she constantly wonders if she wasn't good enough for whomever her original family was, though she hides it down beneath, and constantly tries to make sure she's involved so she doesn't get left behind again.

  4. Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? Vivi grew up within the order, with several other of the initial younglings who had arrived, as well as the knights and masters who were involved within her upbringing. Of course, Vivi had a life before the order--but those memories are lost from her.

  5. What is most Jedi-like about your character?  What is least Jedi-like about your character? The most Jedi-like thing about Vivi is how she will always want to help people out--something even if they don't want her assistance. The least jedi like thing is that she can be a bit of a trouble maker--often trying to do tricks, or make jokes (sometimes at her own expense), which comes from her deep down issues revolving around her abandonment at the temple.

  6. Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? To Vivi, the Force often feels like a warm, protective presence—much like the vague memories of the family she believes she lost. However, there’s always a subtle sense of something being just out of reach, as though the Force holds her close but also leaves her yearning for something more.

  7. Some characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? Well, as mentioned previously, she has issues with her abandonment. She secretly wonders if, for some reason, she wasn't good enough for her family. (Yes, I know, I've brought this up alot).

  8. What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical? I am looking forward to exploring and delving into how she comes to terms with her past and truly finds her place within the order. Perhaps loosing a bit of the childishness of always wanting to insert herself to other business.

  9. Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? As of right now, I'm leaning into a more force centric build, so I'll go light on trees, and heavy into force powers. I'll like pick up only one more tree, with the rest being into skills and force powers.

  10. The Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? As with much else, the dark side temptation around Vivi will be focused on her curosity and her fears about why she was left at the order. The Dark Side could whisper to Vivi that it holds the answers to her greatest questions: Why did her family leave her? Who was the cloaked figure? Was she abandoned out of love, fear, or rejection?

  11. Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Padawan~! She's been at the temple for a while, and for a preferred choice in Master to be, would be Samara Wincott. I find her militarist and generally strict demeanor to be a good foil to Vivi, who very much not like that.
