Session Summary
- While en route back to Dantooine from a routine mission, the Initiates and Padawans picked up a distress signal upon entering the Kashyyyk system from a stranded freighter, the captain claimed to have been recently attacked by pirates and was in need of assistance.
- Locating the ship, the team confirmed there was no external damage to the ship, and there were no other ships in the local area. Docking with the ship, the crew made their way on board and immediately the ship’s state of disrepair.
- Proceeding through the ship, the team located the captain’s quarters, filled with scattered and dismantled droid parts that had been meticulously taken apart. A captain’s keycard was located by Aryn.
- Entering the mess hall, the team was ambushed by a collection of frankenstein droids in pitch darkness, but managed to dispatch them without sustaining any severe injuries.
- Arriving on the bridge, the team began to inspect the consoles while Ben attempted to direct the ship - which had begun flying away on its own - back to their transport, something else was attempting to fight his efforts, but he managed to lock out the remote control.
- Eyton and the team inspected the console and logs, and were able to determine that the ‘Overseer’ had taken control of the ship, and had become obsessed with ‘perfecting’ droids through the use of new materials, it was evident from its threats that it wished to use the team as material.
- Life support shut off while the team was on the bridge, and after locating a map on the ship systems, the team decided to make their way to storage and the armory, and then on to the repair room. The team successfully made their way through the ship without drawing the attention of the droids wandering the ship.
- Within the storage room, the team located the ship’s captain, extremely weak and disoriented. The team offered some assistance and gained access to the armory and repair room with his help, securing some ion weapons from the armory.
- Entering the repair room, the team confronted the ‘Overseer’ and a number of its puppeteered droids. Following a protracted and intense battle, the ‘Overseer’ was destroyed with an ion blast, and the remaining droids on the ship were immediately returned to their standard programming.
- With the ship restored, the team split up, with Ben piloting the freighter back to Dantooine while the rest of the team returned to the temple in their AD-2. Upon arrival, the captain was taken for medical assistance, and repairs began on the ship.
