This section will cover any major updates to the character's story as the campaign unfolds.
- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
One of many Corellian Selonians, Dal grew up among the Sovuh Sept, in the clan of Ferathu. Located east of Kor Vella, the clan tended the mountains nearby, helping lost travelers and hunters. The Sovuh Sept, as they grew, began spending time in the nearby town, frequently traveling to Coronet to spend time in the busy city. During one such expedition, the Sovuh sisters jokingly decided to pester one of Master Skywalker's force seekers, commenting on their lightsaber and following them around. The seeker, sensing something, turned, looking straight into Dal's eyes, noticing her spark. Offering a hand, the seeker gave them a choice, to join the new Jedi, and bring unity to the galaxy. Startled, the Sovuh sept returned to the clan, panicked. After conferring with the Clan Mother, a consensus was reached, that Dal would join the Jedi and help the galaxy know unity, cohesion, and peace. By the time Dal left the clan's cave, the seeker was already waiting, ready to take her far away from her home, to learn the ways of the Force. - Why does your character want to be a jedi? Having seen how chaotic the galaxy is, and the lack of understanding that leads to violence and death, Dal wants to become a Jedi in an attempt to bring peace and safety to those who can not protect themselves. It is the duty of any self-respecting Selonian female to protect those who are unable, and she will not fail her duty.
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? Dal, like most Selonians, grew up in a large family group. The constant companionship and unity provided by the clan led to her following group consensus, even if she did not agree with it. This led to her understanding that compromise and seeing things from other viewpoints was needed in order to create a truly unifying group.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? As she grew up in her close-knit clan, Dal has dozens of half-sisters. Like any family, they sometimes bicker and squabble, but they work together to solve problems at the end of the day. Her sept tended to get into minor trouble in Coronet City, but nothing major enough to create real enemies.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character?
Believing in the protection of the innocent and the powerless is one of the most Jedi-like characteristics that Dal shows. However, given her limited experience with others, she has an unfortunate tendency to view others as having selfish intentions.
- Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? Dal understands almost nothing of the Force. The little she understands is that it sometimes helps her jump, but she has not had enough training to make it consistent.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? Dal is terrified of letting others down. She would sooner throw away everything that makes her Dal than have everyone disappointed in her.
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical?
I think the Selonian drive to have a consensus as well as go with whatever the group has decided will be an interesting experience, since it means that she is slightly more reliant upon other group members making decisions for her, rather than doing brash actions herself.
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? Eventually, Dal plans on learning the Unexpected Demise ability, using it, as well as her mobility, to act as a quick attacker, constantly moving.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? Dal learned how different the other species are from her own at a young age. Their callous disregard for others confuses her, and it would be so much better if she could show everyone the best way to live. She could guide the galaxy to a new golden age! She just needs a bit more power.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Dal would be starting as an Initiate, having been recruited to join shortly after becoming an adult by Selonian standards.
