This section will cover any major updates to the character's story as the campaign unfolds.
- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Frid-Ansen is the last surviving 'enfant trouvé' of the Findsmans Lodge from the Hey'da'hl pocket colony on Gand. Raised as a Postulant by the surviving but ageing grand Maester Amun'Sden, the Cloisters only remaining Findsman, Frid tended to the eldery Gands needs in their twilight years, assisting them on their trying to learn from the experienced elder and becoming absorbed in the culture as they conducted Findsmans Proeliums, bringing in for the authorities na'er do wells, recovering lost vessels in the gas clouds or even a missing herd of Nerfs.
Unfortunately, as is the way, eventually the Maester passed. It is custom at the Invenire ceremony for a Lodge to give its fallen members to the Sacred Mists for safekeeping, however such a journey required normally four findsman. Frid set out by himself, tending to the body and conducting the associated rites before returning to what remained of the Lodge, with another Lodge from the Ous'Land Colony granting them the name of Frid-Ansen, in keeping with Gand traditions.
Now without members in their lodge, Frid saw the Findsman for what they had become, a dying order. Considering their options, they placed an application off-world to the resurgant Jedi order, hoping in the process to learn from their survival the skills that the Findsman as a whole need to survive in this changing galaxy. - Why does your character want to be a jedi? Frid considers the Jedi to be another Lodge of the Findsman and wishes to learn how they have managed to prosper after being all but wiped out only a few decades past, and how this relates to the Findsman's Code.
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? Being a orphan placed under the care of a Findsman's Lodges Maester has really formed Frids mind on many matters, and a limited experience of the Galaxy outside of Gand gives them a almost naive view on many things.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? Frid has lead a fairly cloistered and monastic life within their pocket colony, spending most of their time as effectively an initiate in the Findsman order.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character? Their desire to help others is probably the most Jedi-like quality they possess. Their least Jedi quality may be when their previous teachings clash with the Jedi Orders (e.g. referring to the Force as the Sacred Mists, conducting rituals to enact their force powers).
- Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? The Force is a tool to be harnessed and used to seek and find that what needs to be found, be it items, individuals or knowledge.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? The closest I think to this is Frid's desire to ensure lessons he learns from the Jedi Lodge are passed onto the other Findsmans Lodges to try and ensure their survival.
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical?
The interacting with the story, probing it and searching for clues to enable the party to progress through their games and achieve the objectives laid out.
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? Mechanically I envisage Frid as becoming more and more of a tracking expert, possibly branching that into a social scene component as well.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? The Darkside may prey on Frid in one of two ways: 1. The quickest and most direct route to finding a target might clash with the tenemants of a Findsman (see 'Motivations' tab), and 2. The preying on their mind that the Findsmen as an order may be going extinct.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Definitely Initiate, as it will then fit the whole 'fish out of water' vibe.
