Master Muss,
I regret to inform you that I will be missing our usual practice session. As I am currently with Padawans Lazslo, Sestri, Eyton, Atyuna. We are not in trouble, we are witnesses in a corruption trial on Coruscant. We uncovered that a local administrator by the name Haldron was embezzling reconstruction funds to benefit himself. I am not used to seeing such brazen displays of opulence contrasting such grinding levels of despair and poverty. I saw a man who used the riches meant to improve or at least stabilize the lives of those under him, to lavish his own vaults with art and treasures.
The fact he campaigned on such promises, and refused to deliver on them? It is a sad thing. I almost wish that he had just been fully disloyal, and been a complete cheat. I see who he wronged, the destitute, the homeless, the orphaned. Those who cannot speak, or if they speak will simply be seen as grumbling. Those he assisted, may feel shame, or they may simply overlook these circumstances or even defend him, as their own lives had been improved.
I could wonder about the grander implications, how many other administrators are doing something similar, but that is not my place. We are keepers of peace, and bringers of life. The fact that we were willing to investigate, hear the people out, and see this through speaks to what Jedi are supposed to do.
Master, I do have one other finding, an exceptional individual calling themselves Phantom Thief C. They were the one that really found the information on the Administrator. They stole a painting from his private collection, placed a trail of clues showing us around Haldron’s district, highlighting his misdeeds, managed to break into Haldron’s Yacht, place the painting in the ship, and a data cylinder showing all the man's transaction. I can only believe this individual was watching us the whole time… and selected us because we were Jedi to reveal this information. They could have tipped someone off… and we would be completely irrelevant. I do not know if he will strike again and for good or Ill, but we should watch out for him.
