This section will cover any major updates to the character's story as the campaign unfolds.
1. Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Growing up in the middle levels of Coruscant has never been easy, but the Sacking certainly didn't help matters. Having to lie, steal worse to ensure she and her family had enough food growing up, she decided she had only one way of getting herself and the family out of there; enlisting in the New Republic Military. Boot Camp and her initial deployment went well, the rigid discipline and squad cohesion demanded by the military suited her well.
One day on a Counter-piracy raid however things took a rapid turn southwards, a thermal detonator, armed and ready to explode went flying towards her and her squadmates. With barely a thought she threw herself on top of it to hopefully shield her comrades from the blast, and if it hadn't been for the Force, her life would have ended there. But even as a tangled mass of gore and organs, she refused to die, to give up, and the Force responded to that resolve, keeping her alive while she was brought to a field hospital.
The recovery was long, taking months, but luckily a combination of New Republic Veteran support and the doctors going further in hope of understanding how in the blazes she was still alive; she was rebuilt.
With a medical discharge, she now needed a new way of trying to support the ones back on Coruscant, so she took a shuttle to Dantooine, in case that mysterious thing she had felt was indeed the Force, in which case all of them could hopefully be relocated away from Coruscant.
2. Why does your character want to be a jedi?
She wants to be a Jedi for two reasons; a search for a new purpose now that her time with the Army is over, and a better home for her family on Dantooine.
3. Are there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places) that were more formative to your character’s current personal development? Alt version: What was the most formative event/person/place from your backstory that you would like GMs to know or focus on?
Her time in the underbelly of Coruscanti society taught her the need to stick to your gang, and to stick it to anyone else, otherwise survival is far from guaranteed, additionally a lack of funds taught her the importance of maintaining your things yourself, paying for a repairman to fix your apartment heating means you cannot eat this month, learning how to fix it yourself keeps food in the belly
4. Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? Be as general or as specific as you’d like. What do the kinds of friends and enemies you have made say about your character?
She would have good relations with her former comrades in the Army, even the ones who don’t like you tend to respect you risking your life to save them afterall. her former crew on Coruscant is a more mixed story though, she left afterall, not that they wouldn't have done the same given the chance, some may hold grudges from that, the rest are more understanding
5. What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character?
Most Jedi-like is her willingness to protect those around her regardless of the personal cost to her, Least Jedi-like is her ruthlessness towards those deemed her enemies, formed by her formative years in a crime-ridden environment, and shaped by her time in the Army
6. Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them?
She doesn't have a strong understanding of the Force, its more her going beyond her natural limits and something helps her when she does & a greater feeling through her metallic parts then their programming would provide, so while internal uses of the Force like Endure and Enhance come relatively easily to her, any external uses would be a rather different story, and I am not certain whether she will ever learn any beyond Manipulate.
7. Some characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret or a secret aspiration that is central to their character?
Not really, she is rather open about what she wants, security and prosperity for her and those close to her
8. What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical? What aspect of your character do you think will be most challenging to play? We also encourage you to think about how your character does/will interact with the Force and how you may also want that to change mechanically/narratively as your character grows.
I am most excited about playing something almost the opposite of Astella, someone who will probably have issues fitting in to the Jedi Order rather than thrive like she did
9. Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? If so, what is it?
I don't have a set-in-stone plane, probably Knight or Colossus after I finish Armorer, but I will take it more as it comes, big health, big damage and protecting those around her, classic Tank style
Longer term would be a third tree, probably Sentry, to improve combat capability.
10. The Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it?
It tempts her with easy solutions, kill rather than capture, ruthlessness being necessary to ensure the safety of her comrades and the like
11. Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan?
I would prefer her to start as an Initiate
