- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
The hand closed around Ino, pulling her into the light
She'd been down too long, trying to open the sides of a tiny, ancient box, and her head was starting to swim. One of the corners had clicked and turned, but nothing else had happened in the past hour or so. As Clan-Chief Dezil effortlessly lifted her out of the decrepit ship, her eyes stayed unfocused.
"No more, Ino. Breathe. The box has waited two hundred turns, it will wait one more day."
She gasps, reaching towards her moisture hose and taking deep gulps, trying to regain her breath. Nodding, she brushes her hood back. Among the Clan, it should be okay. Everyone knew about her fur, so it wouldn't cause problems.
White fur was odd among her people. Said to be the enemy of the Twin Suns, albinism was a sign of greatness. Representing the pale moon Chenini, she was destined to become a powerful Shaman, bringing shade to the Clan.
Under the tent stretched out from the Mett, the Clan excavated a ship. The markings showed an old symbol, one of the time before the White Plastoid Men declared the Sands as their own. The Shaman called it the Republic, and that the Cosmic Wheel had turned once again, returning the Republic to its place in the stars. Of course, that meant that this was worth its weight in the silicax oxalate and materials the Mett used to keep working. With the right deal, it could even be enough for the other Clans to benefit, which meant marriages and celebrations!
Ino turned the small box over in her paws, lightly tracing the winged sword on the cover. She had a good feeling about this one...

The hand closed around Ino, pulling her into the light.
"Hey, boss! I got another one!"
The man threw Ino to the ground, and she squeaked. Where had everything gone wrong? The box had frustrated every attempt to open it, and Clan-Chief Dezil had declared it as a lost cause. Finishing the excavation, they had made for Bestine to find a seller for the treasures unearthed from the Republic frigate. A savage kick slams into her stomach, as her bag falls off her shoulders, followed by another swift kick into her face.
"Oh, what's this, little rat, you stole some things you wanna sell? You know what we do to thieves 'round these parts?"
Another blow sends her sliding across the ground as the man opens the pack of treasures, looking into it.
"Not just anything, but Republic goods? Wow, aren't you brazen? Oh, Borvo's gonna love this. I bet he can turn you over for a fat profit. I can't wait to watch you cry as the cops put you down like the filth you are!"
Ino reached forward, clawing her way across the sandy street of Bestine, desperate to escape her assailant. Sand blew in from the cracks of her goggles, and she closed her eyes, blindly reaching forward. Grabbing on to something, she pulled herself closer, trying to hide against it. A foolish hope, to be true, but she had nothing left. The Clan-Chief had fled, her brother had been knocked unconscious, she was out of options. Her fur rippled, fear sending shivers down her back, as a shadow fell around her.
Her red eyes squinted upwards, barely open to prevent the Twin Suns from striking her blind, and she saw a figure in with red skin and a horn standing above her. Her paw was, unfortunately, clasped firmly around his leg. Raising the small, shiny box she had kept safe towards him, she briefly squeaked out a plea for trade: Safety for the box. Bending down, the man gently took the box, looking at it with a smile.
"Mmmmh... How wondrous.... We'll discuss what this is later...."
His voice echoed strangely, but Ino couldn't quite focus on it. Everything seemed so far away, and as she lost consciousness, she had time to realize that the man had never stopped smiling, nor had he agreed to her offer.

The hand closed around Ino, pulling her into the light.
This was not the hand of violence, or the hand of family. It was the hand of medicine, and her journey to the light was not a calm or peaceful one. Everything hurt. She lay in a bed that was soft and strange, her robe still attached properly, as the sound of a clinic echoed around her. She barely had time to make a squeak of discomfort before her Clan surrounded her, almost twenty Jawas piling around her, as each tried to talk to her at the same time.
It turned out that her improvised deal had been far, far more beneficial than they had ever expected, with one of the Old Mountain Man's Clan, the Jedi, coming to see the parts. The careful excavation of the parts of the crashed ship made the pieces significantly more valuable, and the Old Mountain Man's Clan had promised safety and parts, in exchange for travel and coordinates of some ruined Republic vessels that had not been scavenged.
The box she had found was something called a Hollow Cron, or something like that, and the Old Mountain Man's Clan wanted to bring her with them to see the stars. The Shaman had been consulted, and had given approval. She would be the one to unite the Clan of the Jedi with the Clan of Dezil... She just had to get better. As she slipped back into unconsciousness, she caught a brief glance of someone watching from outside the room, but had no time to react.
Teniai Duo rubbed his eyes. How was he supposed to tell Grandmaster Skywalker that he found a Sensitive Jawa? He paused for a moment, before sending a brief message and turning his comms to "Do Not Disturb". This Jawa Clan had found quite a few interesting trinkets of the Jedi Order, and he was eager to learn what secrets they hid... - Why does your character want to be a jedi? Ino is new to the Galaxy as a whole. Sure, the Clan-Chief talked about the stars, but the Shaman said it was dangerous... When her call to action came, she found herself in love with the wonder of lights, sounds, smells, EVERYTHING about the Galaxy! It's so noisy, and so busy!
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? Ino learned that her destiny was to travel to the stars, but she remembers her Shaman and Clan-Chief fondly. Both are important to her, as close to her as family could be. The Sandcrawler Mett has been her home, apart from her time in the Fortress, and she loves every bit of it.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? Ino had a lot of friends with her Clan, being a bit more personable than most other Jawas. But, like many Jawas, her times in the cities was fraught with harassment from people, and most people only know Jawas by reputation... And it's not a good one.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character? Ino believes in the goodness of people, always seeking new wonders to discover and bring joy to others. Unfortunately, she suffers from a bit of an inferiority complex, scared of letting others down.
- Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? Ino feels the Force as ripples across her fur when she uses it, but imagines it like the feeling of lukewarm steam when it is used around her. She knows about the Force, as her Shaman has a sensitivity to it, but she only knows the rough basics of it.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? Ino can't help but feel like she was cast out. The Shamans tend to have powers in the Force, but nobody else got sent out to join the Jedi. Why her? Did her family... Not want her?
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical? Ino is very, very curious. She's learning about the Force, and about the rules of most societies. It's a major jump, from Jawa to Jedi, but she's going to keep working on it!
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? Eventually, Ino will learn Insight and Forsee, using those gifts, in addition to her investigative skills, to crack a case wide open before it even starts.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? Her fear of being alone gets the better of her, sadly. Everything is wonderful, filled with noise, but where would someone like her fit in? Would she ever fit in? Who would ever notice if she faded into the background? They'd probably think it to be for the best.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Ino is an Initiate, still learning about the Force!
