- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Born on Chandrila. Ci’na Juaal was born into a modest family of diplomats. Her father San’to Juaal (Twi’lek) is a well-known diplomat in the Galaxy. Her mother Luna Juaal (Twi’lek) was a stay-at-home mom when Ci’na was young. Teaching her about life, diplomacy and history. With her studies, she would become a 5th generation diplomat in the Juaal family tree.
When growing up Ci’na had a talent of talking, enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. She read up on diplomatic controversies, historic wars and the Jedi. Trying to understand why these wars started. When Ci’nas younger sister (Vette Juaal) got born her mother’s attention went to her. So, Ci’na started getting closer to her dad. He took her on trips that exited her, even for him, it was work. She learned a lot from him from those work trips.
One day in her teens, she felt something was going to happen. She walked around in Hanna City minding her own business, when an explosion happened. People ran, grabbing their children to safety. Ci’na saw concrete blocks falling towards her and put her hands out to shield herself. She waited for her final demise. Concrete blocks hit the ground around her, but she was still standing there. Opening her eyes, with the sweat dripping from her forehead. She saw that the concrete blocks that were going to hit her floated before her. With surprise and excitement, she lost focus on the blocks. But they were still floating. Another individual is still holding them up. Is this the Force? The individual is moving slowly to a side and places the concrete blocks safely on the ground. This is the day she met Knight Hatorran.
Knight Hatorran talked to Ci’nas parents. Explained to them that Ci’na has a gift and wants her to study the way of the Force at the temple on Dantooine. Ci’na has now been at the temple for 6 years. Gotten visited by her family regularly. Played with her baby sister named Vette and talked about everything she has learned and will continue to learn. Her mother and father are so proud of Ci'na for what she is developing into.
During her 6 years now at the temple. Ci’na has gotten a lot of friends. At least she hopes they are friends. Ci’na has developed into a social person. She likes to meet new people in and out of the Order. She likes the studies in the Order and likes to learn new stuff, either by the teachings of the knights or by the books. She is in a fight, try to talk it down first, if she must fight she will still try to deescalate the combat situation with no killing. She will give the bad person a second chance at life. She really likes the teaching of Hatorran, but that might be because he helped save her all those years ago. - Why does your character want to be a jedi? She wants to become a Jedi because she got inspired by Knight Hatorran the day they met for the first time. The Force was a mystery, but now it is not. She also feels that it would benefit her, because she can do more to try to help the Galaxy come to peace. She can help people in need easier with being in the Jedi Order.
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? Only her father San’to Juaal and Knight Hatorran.Their teachings that made Ci’na become who she is today.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? Her father San’to Juaal and Knight Hatorran are the persons that made Ci’na become the person she is today. Guided her on her path and showed her the ways of diplomacy and the Force. Focus on the friendship with Knight Hatorran and the relationship she has with her father.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character? She is caring. She tries to help anyone and likes to guide people to a better path in life. She helps children by answering their questions that they are wondering about. She will try to stop a conflict without using violence.
The least jedi-like with Ci’na is, if she must act upon defending herself (attack and defence), see other people hurt or trying to get control in a stressful situation. She will start to lose herself. She will become a different person. The dark side within her will come out. The version of her that wants to become the strongest Force user in the Galaxy. The one that wants to master every side of the Force. Force drain, Force Protect/Unleash, Influence. The dark side within her hungers for power. Ci’na tries to hide that version of herself, but only a few know this about her. (Knight Hatorran, Master Luke, Her father San’to and her future mentor/master). - Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? As a padawan, Ci’na would know of the Force. She has used it plenty. With the guidance of the knights and masters of the Jedi Order. She wants to master the force power Influence and learn to best use some of the other powers.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? By being the daughter of a well known diplomat. There is always danger around one. If taken, gangs, pirates and syndicates can use her/me as a blackmail to get money. There have been almost successful captures of Ci’na, but the culprit got caught in the act.
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical? I am looking forward to being a more intelligent and talkative character. Not scared and fumble to talk to children and people. And I am also looking forward to playing a happier character that wants to learn new things. The challenging bit with this character is to be overly excited and happy. She will be more reserved and think before doing stuff. Not go on instinct all the time.
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? My long-term plan for Ci’na is for her to be a very good spokesperson. I want her to possibly become a Senator (I know now that this is not possible), representing the Jedi Order and her planet Chandrila. If that is not possible, I think she will stay at the Jedi Order. Teaching the new padawans that come through about diplomatic ways to keep the peace and that violence is not always the answer to attack or defend.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it? The hunger inside her to master the Force. To be the strongest force user in the galaxy. It tries to come out, but she won’t let it take control. The stronger she gets in the Force, the stronger the hunger becomes. She will try to understand the dark side of the Force. The more the better.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? Padawan
