Excerpt from Captain Marris’s Briefing for New Crew

Located on the tropical isle of Alyndra, Highwater is the busiest port in the system. Colorful sails, sweet wine, open-air bazaars. All the usual trappings, but run well enough to keep traffic constant. Ships from across Talereth make berth here, and you’ll find merchants, minstrels, and opportunists mixed in with honest sailors. Most think it’s just a seaborne trade hub. That’s by design.

I spent a good chunk of my early years here, and still know the back alleys and cliff trails better than most. One leads to a hidden spelljammer port in the island’s old caldera. It’s small but tidy. The Velvet Court keeps the illusion wards in good shape and the guards looking respectable, so nobody asks the wrong questions. I usually sail into the main harbor to save on dock fees, but topside is better for more… sensitive cargo. Just remember, the winds are playful but the cliffs don’t care.

Down in the city there’s always a festival or exhibition. Some are genuine, others cover for offworld arrivals. Either way, it makes for fine shore leave. Just check the tides, and don’t pick fights you don’t understand. Not every ship in that harbor came from the sea.
