Hollowshade Thicket lies northeast of Brackenfall and just inland from Starleech Inlet, with the mistswept ridges of Lorethal to the southeast. Smaller than the great forests of Durashan, it marks the threshold where coastal fields fray into deep wilds. Known for its dense canopy and echoing hollows, the Thicket is valued for medicinal mosses, shade-root fungi, and root systems some believe span vast distances. Local druids regard it with quiet respect.
The name comes not from darkness but from the land’s strange acoustics. Sounds bend and repeat in unsettling ways, giving rise to tales of mimic birds, whispering glades, and travelers who hear footsteps behind them with no source. Still, many see Hollowshade as a safe place to gather herbs, test apprentices, or conduct small rites without venturing into more dangerous woods.
