Community is a core and highly valued virtue in ysoki society. Cleverness, however, is valued almost as much.
Vhel is exceedingly clever, even amongst ysoki.
The youngest of 15 siblings, Vhel was always exceedingly curious. Her clan is a nomadic one, bringing huge trading caravans across the vast arid plains and deserts of Shaguang, stopping at various settlements along the way to trade, offers their services as craftsrats and mages and rangers. Vhel learned much from her siblings, how to hunt and track, how to weild a bow, how to create a variety of beautiful and sometimes wonderous objects and weapons and armors and runes with her nimble hands. From her extended family she learned how to brew potions and tinctures to do a variety of effects, how to wield logic and reason as a tool and weapon both.
With such a vast and skilled family, she had the time growing up to absorb new skills rapidly. She supported the caravan as both a crafter and as an investigator, helping solve cases or resolve troubles in the towns they pass, finding people who were lost in the desert, tracking down thieves and bandits, or creating beautiful artisan goods to sell for profit.
Every settlement she visited she clung to the tales and songs of bards she heard or saw, swept up in tales from miles and miles away. She absorbed every scrap of paper she got with knowledge of other realms and peoples, all the while growing more curious about the world beyond the desert.
When she heard from heralds during her clan's stop in a major city of the Guild's exploits in discovering a new world, completely unexplored, filled to bursting with secrets and mysteries and wonders she nor anyone else have ever laid eyes on? Vhel couldn't resist. Her family wished her well, making sure she had everything she'd need for the trip, and let her strike off on her own.
She signed up with the Guild, took her first boat ride ever, and sets up her clan's first offworld venture in the New World.
