Long ago, long ago, in Seseragi Forest...two Unknown,
humble servitors of the divine, sought peace in the form of a small
family. For a time, they fostered great happiness with their new
daughter, a cheery little imp with fur the color of night, teaching her
their culture and history and the ways of the natural world. As she
grew, however, so did her inquisitiveness, and it wasn't very long at
all before she questioned the truth of the heavens and gods they served.
Disturbed, they punished her -- a light touch, quickly regretted, which
she found unacceptable. As they gave chase, they were stayed by a sign
from the Empress of Heaven. In their zealotry they had lost their
daughter, but in their faith she wouldn't lose her life. Pained yet
grateful, they left their dearest a blessing and a sign before moving on
to serve again, hoping she'd have a life so blissful...
Long
ago, at the outskirts of a forest, a young girl was smashed into the
ground by a great ape, an escapee crazed from some unfathomable slight
or injury, and she began to die. In that place between, she grasped the
immateriality of her pleasant life, and the pointlessness of her
oncoming death. She had just grasped beyond, taking hold of the
firmament of the gods who'd established all stories, when she was
resuscitated by a potion from a local noble boy, a fledgling hunter
beyond his means. As he ordered her to run, Sato Tamiko proved herself
stubborn, ripping forth the magic from that firmament to trick the beast
away into the forest, and stabilize the half-broken boy who'd so
bravely defended her. And so she dragged them to an unfamiliar city, a
white fox following behind...
In Azumada, near Higashita Coast,
there once lived a young woman unfit for her new noble family. This they
all knew, and yet they loved her. Having given everything they could,
she set out with their blessings, to spread their family name and pay it
all forward...hoping many more stories could live happily & ever
after.
(Tamiko remains a Life Oracle, and has picked up a
better grasp of the narrative-based nature of 'life' from xer curse,
as well as a bit of psychic magic sparked by Vhel, and a
Wellspring tied to the affection xe shared with her and Daggoth~.)
