By the Grace of Calistria, Dauphin of Vienarya, Duke of the Pines, Count of Elphestos, Sovereign of the Amethyst Isles and the Bloodthorn Woods, High Lord of the Twin-Cities, the Hyacinth Prince, the Hearteater, the Horn-Masked, the Flame-tongued, His Royal Highness Syltorin Starsong of House Margaster. A man of many names and titles, a man of many masks - just like the court expects a prince to be. And in his case, it worked in his favour, for he was born a Tiefling, a Hellspawn.
Still, he is the heir to the throne of Vienarya, a prosperous Elven country in the Old World, and he had his duties, which he fulfilled rather marvelously. A great deal of achievements marks his life, but he never could fill the void. Court life lost its flavour, in time, as did unrestrained hedonism, while Vienarya could hardly rise to greater magnificence, and Syltorin grew bored of the Old World. When the New one was uncovered, he knew where his calling was, and the sweet, impish whispers of his patron only reinforced his determination.
And what a patron he has.
After a series of tragic events from which he is still recovering to this day, he could feel his diabolic blood growing stronger. Nothing could stop him from tracing it back to one of the Devil Lords, Mephistopheles, and in the process unlocking greater innate powers. Thus he holds fire itself on a leash, and richest silvers coat his tongue. But with such powers come their own burdens and consequences.
Troubling rumours have reached him recently. Not at all surprising, of course - he knew this was going to happen, but that didn't prevent him from foolishly hoping. Royal assassins of Vienarya, ones that he himself has employed before, followed him into the New World, at the behest of another family member, one that could benefit greatly from Syltorin's untimely death. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, not even other Adventurers willing to help in their folly.
Lately, Syltorin has been juggling his public duties as the Master of the Assembly with his personal investigations into the the Goetia Demons and their black Monoliths.
Recently, after a deal well struck, Syltorin became the Duke of the Pines, a Duchy of the Fey that was formerly under King Aseron and his Court. Now he leads this independent country, and his Court of the Pines.
