Loose Threads: nightmare prison, Zalors

Cold winter weather presented an opportunity to explore the resources of the Desert. The party reached the outskirts in 3 days and noticed a strange phenomenon - a large black hole appeared and was sucking in the nearby sand and creatures. Bound by rope, we edged closer to investigate. Temptations to jump assaulted our minds and Sohma dragged us in as he jumped inside after losing control. Most of the party members reported visions of loved ones while passing the boundary. We ended up in a nightmare city where a Nightgaunt attacked us. We found out the creature was a manifestation of the place and had no self-preservation. It relentlessly attacked Dhugneam, grabbing and then dropping him from up high, dive bombing when that failed. He only survived due to Nosuch intercepting the Gaunt and preventing certain death. We ended up lost in the nightmare city and resting through the night.
The next day we managed to contact a local man named Walter. He informed us that the places was a cursed prison for the child of the Dreamer after unmet expectations. We were told to find this person in the epicenter and kill him to banish the nightmare. We found and identified the man named Zalors to be the the metaphorical child. We engaged in conversation to find out more about the place. It turns out that Zalors was bound by a being of immense power, capable of binding souls and creating magical prisons as large as cities of the Old World. When the man got bored of answering questions, he decided to kill us to spare us from the slow death of starvation. He took out Nosuch as soon as we engaged and Sohma recalled in a panic. Due to stroke of luck, I managed to recall unconscious Nosuch and escape with my life. Luckily the magic of Recallers was not disrupted by the prison.
