The mysterious Blodeuwedds dwell in those parts of the world where the boundaries between the Material Plane and the First World have worn thin, or around portals between the two planes. Similar to Nymphs, but unmistakably different, these Fey are never truly a part of either reality yet forced to keep watch over both, and thus they tend to grow cynical and sharp-tongued toward any who would seek travel from one realm to the other, regardless of their actual goals.

Beety is one such guardian - rude, impulsive, quick to anger and ready for a fight. He was tasked with protecting the portal from the Temple of the Two Suns to the First World, and at one point, he joined forces with Elgie, who eventually became his life partner. The latter sometimes keeps the former's passions in check, but he as often encourages them instead. Beety holds the shell of Elgie's Gathlain seedpod as a symbol of their relationship.
Beety was killed when Reiko Amiri, Dolen Harven, Paul Darthe and Bethany Claie visited the Temple for the first time, but since this happened in the First World, he eventually regenerated and returned to his husband's side. He will sulk about this for a while, as his pride was hurt, but he respects those who prove their worth. He is wary of all things Shadow, and barely manages to tolerate Xamak and Ombretta, but these Fey roommates are slowly building a sense of camaraderie.
Beety is known to take the form of an owl.
