Elgie is a Gathlain, an inquisitive and mischievous, as well as flighty and distractable eccentric little Fey. He enjoys exploration ot the many wonders of the world for his own pleasure; in the process, he has gathered many oddities, such as beads, pieces of fine cloth, and bits of armour, which he uses to adorn his body and home. He sees these accessories as trophies, proof of his travels, and mementos of his adventures. Related to that, he cares deeply about his appearance, and the way his surroundings look.

Born of a magical tree in a seed pod that floated hundreds of miles on the wind before sprouting, Elgie is a bizarre mix of flesh and flora. Sprigs of mistletoe bloom from his back and form a delicate pair of wings.

Elgie is excitable and impulsive. He loves a good joke or riddle - in fact, with his husband Beety, he was tasked with guarding the portal from the Temple of the Two Suns to the First World, and this protection involved answering riddles. He is calmer than Beety, harder to anger, but snarky and sarcastic. Likes to cheer on his husband while he fights, especially with a drink or a snack in hand while he lazes around in a hammock. He is very dismissive of King Aseron and his rule, and while he doesn't consider Lord Attys or Lady Vesper as his superiors, he fears and respects their power.

Together with Beety and Xamak, Elgie currently lives in the inner chamber of the Temple of the Two Suns, where the portal is, and occasionally visits his home, the First World. These three Fey roommates are slowly building a sense of camaraderie, with Ombretta and Marsyas as frequent and welcome visitors.
