Loose threads: Potential closer look at the laboratory

The group had met under a tip of a rather loud individual who led us with a map to an unassuming delve which seemed to hold a particularly nasty trap mixing a swapping tile pattern which would have triggered a fireball trap if not for deft hands and quick wit.
Once disabled, the path forward opened up to an underground cavern with a river going through. The group was quickly assaulted by a River Drake and its spawn, which led to yet another life-threatening situation, in which our guide had perished, but as the beast fell, we found another room across the river closed and with Lubritorium 2 in Elven across the top.
Inside, we found a deceased individual clutching a box, which contained some interesting spells, and the room in general had some basic study apparatus. The most curious part was a ring with a "Z" inscribed, which when worn by myself and Maethillian left a vision of an Desconhecido wordlessly sending off a letter and thinking what's done must be done, and thinking they had to speak to a "Zuriel", and the vision ended.
