During Charting the Millennium Woods and Once More Into the Millennium Woods, Willow Creek was ruined and abandoned.
Within the desolate town, there was a plant mistakenly identified as a Bloodlash Bush at first, which turned out to be a Yellow Musk Creeper with its Thralls. Its former inhabitants seem to have been slain by those creatures, and stuffed into the crevice that runs through the settlement, perhaps for nourishment and propagation.
After a few hours, the party begins to see signs of what can only be described as an... absurdly small town: A sign post a foot tall (that reads "Willow Creek" in Sylvan), fences coming up to their ankles, and a tiny overturned cart. Up ahead, the party sees a tiny gate that seems to stand at the top of a small depression, which contains the town. Or, well, what's left of it at least. Amid trees and bramble are scattered the crumbled remains of tiny homes, some walls still standing, most strewn about across the packed dirt. Tiny furniture lies smashed to bits, save for a few articles, and in the centre of the cluster of homes there is a fissure, perhaps ten feet long and a few feet wide. Milling about the crumbled houses are four humanoid figures, clearly quite too large for the homes that were once here, their flesh marred by gnarled and twisting vines. Sitting near the chasm, slowly pulling itself forward, is a giant yellow plant, from which flowering vines sprout and wave about, grasping at the air. Sunshine refracts amid the pollen that spills forward from the massive flower at its centre. |
