When encountered during Charting the Millennium Woods and Once More Into the Millennium WoodsWillow Creek was a ruined Fey town in the Millennium Forest. During Message from the Woods, the party stumbled upon the outskirts of Willow Creek again, without realising what it was. When revisited later, during Smells Like Flower Spirit, the town was found mostly rebuilt and repopulated.

Villagers of Willow Creek used to visit Maranthede, but these visits ceased, presumably when the town fell. One of them would steal the talking tree's leaves, for an unknown purpose, before others caught the thief; the tree itself did not mind, but was puzzled by this. Today, the inhabitants of the restored settlement are aiming to reestablish their relationship with Maranthede.

Willow Creek Today

Willow Creek

Visited during Smells Like Flower Spirit, Willow Creek was found partially restored.

General Layout

A small stream – with willows growing on its shores – runs next to the settlement, and this is where it presumably got its name from. The Woven Weir, a natural dam created and maintained by local beavers and otters, forms a small pond upstream. Downstream, the terrain is instead swampy. The Willow-Waif resides next to the creek, in close proximity of the Weir. The creek, the pond, the marsh, and the dam are the only clearly defined borders of Willow Creek; elsewhere, the town simply peters out, gradually replaced by the trees.

At the bottom of a chasm, which opened in the middle of town, there is the Willow Creek Ruin.

The Seat of the Barony

Willow Creek belongs to the territories of Irren, a minor Fey Barony that includes the northernmost tip of the Millennium Forest. The town itself is on the southern border of this land. Agra's Manor used to be the private residence of the respective Baron or Baroness; before she was slain, Lady Agra used to hold this title on Aseron's Court.

Today, this position is held by Lord Lutrian instead, and he made Willow Creek into the new capital of the Barony. His residence, the Marshmere Lodge, is incorporated into the Woven Weir. His advisors include Palinor

The Lodge Lancers

Both the local beavers and otters have been domesticated and trained as mounts, with their shared weir transformed into stables. Together with their lance-wielding riders, they form a small battalion, dispatched to protect Irren. Lutrian himself rides an otter, and commands this cavalry himself.
