Besh and Glaumus as Lv 3 Summoner

Alena Daywalker as Lv 4 Wizard

Kiran Umar Sharma as Lv 2 Sorcerer

Melina as Lv 2 Oracle

Short summary:

The group consisting of Kiran, Alena, Besh, and Melina, tracked the mysterious water elemental with the ability to transform into an orb and which Melina had encountered previously. This with the intention of requesting an audience and possibly an alliance.

The party made it to a mountain water spring after dealing with a night time ambush by air elementals. Through lots of effort and sheer luck, they managed to deescalate tensions with the elemental even after it realized the party had been followed by one of Dox's agents. As the party learned, Dox had been stalking the elemental and it requested the party help with dealing with the situation permanently to allow for further negotiations.

Attempts by the group to reason with Dox failed, and the party fought him and his elemental creations to the Kobold's demise on a vat of its own alchemical concoctions. Only his pipe remained, which was delivered to the Watchers as a sign of respect and as a reparation attempt.

The water elemental was informed of the mission's success and promised to continue to ponder the guild's request for an alliance.

The following letter is written entirely in Draconic.

Honored Tarka of the Watchers,

As a representative of the Watcher Tribe's allies in First Landing, it is my duty to inform you that, regretfully, one of your tribe has fallen as the result of combat between him and a group of First Landing's adventurers (yours truly included). The circumstances leading to the event will be explained in detail below but we must assure you our adventurer's simply defended themselves after exhausting every other avenue of resolving the conflict.

Our adventurers set out from First Landing to locate an elemental creature that the guild first became aware of while tracking unusual elemental activity. Dox was similarly interested and had contracted our services prior to this event to also learn more about this creature which manifested as an icy orb. The objective being pursued was to once again locate the elemental and try to ally with it, or at least learn more of its nature.

The party faced significant resistance, including a hostile ambush, from the elemental's allies but decided to pursue a diplomatic approach regardless. The efforts were successfully which allowed us to learn that, much like us, Dox had been stalking the elemental since. It was at this moment it was noticed that the our group had been followed to the meeting spot and the conversation spied on. This escalated tensions significantly but through significant effort and a significant amount of luck, the situation was deescalated by promising to put a permanent solution to Dox's predations.

The group tracked Dox's steps from its previous laboratory near the Watcher's tribe to its new location with the intention of informing Dox of the situation and to firmly request once again to rethink their efforts and research in a way that would better align with First Landing's interest.

Not only did Dox refuse to do so after repeated requests, but resorted to opening fire via alchemical concoctions and calling upon his elemental creations to attack us. The adventuring group had no recourse but to defend ourselves, but even still Dox was urged repeatedly to stand down.

Unfortunately, no amount of reasoning was enough to stop Dox from its attack on our allies. Our hand was forced to apply lethal force to defend ourselves.

Dox's chemical vat was spilled during this altercation and sadly consumed away most of his remains. We have included with this letter his pipe which we think holds sentimental value.

Once again, I want to emphasize we truly regret this incident, and that First Landing values the alliance with the Watcher's tribe a great deal. We hope this proactive and fully transparent account can show this is the case.

Pojundery,

Melina of First Landing.
