Lady Malyson is a shadow-winged Fey aboard the Banyan Surfer, serving as the vessel's Surgeon. She bears a stark-white, beaked mask vaguely reminiscent of those worn by Nosoi, and her lavish headpiece consists of a multidude of feathery antennae; some of them might even be hers.

GM Notes

Ebissian Sea

- Lady Malyson is an Imprecasia, a curse-eater. She uses her innate ability to drink death to save crew on their deathbed, and she is studied in the healing arts to aid them before they even reach it. However, despite tapping into fonts of vitality, her healing magic remains ominously dark-tinged. She also uses alchemy.

- Originally meant to exist as a bright Pixie scion of an influential Fey family of the Millennium Forest nobility, Malyson was instead born shadowy and cursed. Her entire early life, she was expected to hide her nature, and be a proper, vibrant lady of the court. One fateful day, when her unfortunate circumstances could be concealed from the nobles and the gentry no more, she was quickly driven out due to fear and misunderstanding.

- En route to the twilight of Avilion, where she wanted to start a new life away from prejudice and suspicion, she was welcomed by Lady Sjel, the Embracer of all things discarded and shunned, and the ruler of Cynosure, the port where Malyson was searching for a boat to the Tanglelight Forest.

- While she was residing with the Pearlescent Court, she met Lord Asculith. He commiserated with the misfortune of her birth (wrong place, wrong time) and the burden of societal expectations, and recognising her true nature as a (rather useful) curse-eater, he offered her employment on his Banyan Surfer.
