Hello all, I'm Lafley Maple, but you can call me Laf, I just went on a mission with my good friends Miss Vaelindra Cielo, Mister Aznyss Theras and a new adventurer I just met named Akash, he's a swell fellow really a boon to any team that could pick him up and I heartily do recommend that. Why I was just thinking the other day that it'd be real nice to make friends with a nice fun wizard fellow you know how those old tales always be talkin bout them traveling wizards who have been around for thousands of years and go around doing good deeds and whatnot, why my mama used to tell me bout old Bernard Loopinhands, now he was an old traveling wizard who she said had seen more roads than any horse, hound, or other pulling companion, she said he wore an ooooold tattered robe patched in a dozen different colours and carried a staff made of driftwood, though he claimed it was a moon touched oak staff, but I think driftwood fits better for the story, don't you? Now anyways where was I...o right Now every mornin' Bernard would pull into a new town whistling a tune he had found at the last town and set up his lil foldin table by the inn of that town's door, folks would gather round watch him swirl his fingers in the way them wizard folks do and summon a light or some sparks do some fancy show magic. Welll one evenin a baker's daughter begged him to bless her dough so her family oculd eat that night. Don't think she rightly knew that she were lookin for an ole priest not a wizard, but well he tried his hand at it...and the dough rose so high it burst the bakery's ceilin beams raining flour and sweet rools onto every head in the crowd. Folks laughed until they belly ached, butt he baker well he just shook his hand knowing he'd have to repair that there roof, but he proclaimed "Well I suppose this beats kneading the dough by hand" Hahahaha, well I never minded no bit of chaos so I thought that was rather a comical tale, and now look I met myself a wizard who I can consider a friend...anyways what was I saying..o ya we went on a quest, started at that ole Pug bar, Elvira's a nice woman letting all us adventuring folks stay there we should do something nice for her. Never cost too much to do something nice for a person helping others out. Well now Miss V was the first to arrive so I'm told then Mister Aznyss came round lookin kinda glum, but when I arrived Miss V gave me a nice big hug. Always welcome a hug, never forget that. Hugs can make the glummest day bright. Me and Aznyss got properly acquainted, nice fellow him. I expect he'll do mighty fine out here. Got a right level head about him if not a bit anxious, but he always seems to come through in a pinch. I think the boy just lacks a little confidence is all. Which is a downright shame. He's excellent at what he does. Anyways, I didn't rightly know what were supposed ta be doin on this mission and I rightly still don't really know what we were doing if I'm being completely honest which I think is the intent of these reports ya? Write out what happened in the most honest way possible. Miss V mentioned some fella named Lagamal, I didn't know that it was a fella at first but I learned that mighty quick. Didn't know dragons could be unhatched to be certain, now I know. I wonder if there are more...probably. Mighty big world. Well we was just waiting for Akash to show up so I grabbed a beer from Elvira and we just conversed for a lil while. After a bit Akash joined us, we filled him in on what was going on and well we packed up and headed out. Oooo wait hahaha. Akash thought I meant o wait. I need to remember to make Miss V some chili I forgot to bring some to her and that's a right misfortune that. I'll have to find another deer...now where was I...o ya hahaha the joke...I hope. Akash thought I meant lifting books might help him prepare for climbing. Silly man...I meant I hoped reading them books taught him how to climb, I think it did though cause he was better than me at it hahahah. but that's for later. Now where was I...o ya we was just leavin. O and we talked bout Master Luz for a bit. Right cute couple him and Miss V.
Welll then we headed out and made rather good time getting to that there desert along the way we met an ole family of elves that I helped pull their cart out of some mud along with some help from my friends, and Akash rigged some fancy magic to help a child get their toy out of a tree, and then wouldn't you know it? It was desert! And then the desert started...rumbling. Got right near bucked off my horse I did. And what emerged from the ground? 3 Big ole centipedes!! Well they tried to go for my friends and I wasn't having that, but before I could even think Aznyss had cleaved one of them in two with just a single shot! Like I was saying, boy just lacks confidence he's got the skill to really go someplaces. Well I was the second quickest to respond and the smaller of the two centipedes left weren't too much of an issue, it got cut down while I was drawing my blade into my hand, must've accidentally swiped it across the chest as I drew it, so anyways I turned and sprinted to the opposite side of the biggest one to help Miss V get a right sturdy hit in and I think she must've appreciated that because she did indeed get a right sturdy hit in. Damn near killed it in one shot she did! That training with Master Luz must really be comin in handy. She did singe my beard a bit but ain't no big deal it'll grow back hahahaha. Well it was pretty much already dead from that but Akash and I tag-teamed it to finish it off fully so no other travelers could be harmed from it. Cleaned my blade off and then inspected the dead ones and weirdest thing happened. The big one's eyes just...disintegrated. The eyes seemed to pulse as well. Was very strange. No clue what that was about. Hopefully someone smarter than me can figure it all out. Did you know Samsarans are reincarnated? That's wild...I don't know if I'd like to be reincarnated myself really. I think probably one life is enough for me. Unless of course I get to choose the life. I think I'd make a mighty good bard in another day and age, just roaming around singing melodiously y'know? At the moment I'm fairly certain people'd be wanting silence more than singing from me hahahaha. Sound like a broken record I do. Well it was getting late, but we decided to press on and Akash gave us all some nice fancy floating lights. Like I said Wizards be truly helpful to have around. We made alright time getting to the checkpoint a little later than we would have anticipated but nothing bad happened so what's a little bit more of a journey, just more time to spend amongst friends. I took first watch...had a terrible dream that night...I know we're supposed to mention everythin in these reports, but respectfully I'm going to be keeping it to myself...It started to get hot at that point though as we made our way to the crucible 2 so I'm told it was called. We saw quite a few many creatures with their eyes torn out similar to the centipedes we faced. None of us were really sure why it was happening though, so we continued on promising ourselves to look into it further. Maybe I can ask someone in the tower that has a bit more experience. Or perhaps Master Swampy, he was a kind and understanding fellow, might know somethin bout it. I think Akash got a trace of the runes Aznyss spotted on their corpses, but rightly don't recall. Ask him about it I'm sure he'd be a help to you. And that's when I learned that people actually read these reports, so I hope you all enjoy this report. I think I'm doing an alright job, but I'm sure I'm missing some of the more intelligent discussion that usually goes on with these sorta things. I'm just trying to provide ways for you to be able to figure it out so I just tell it like I see it and hope you'll be able to infer the deeper meanings to it. If you can't welllll I imagine Miss V and Mister Anzyss and Mister Akash will be able to help you figure it all out. Well we finally got to the entrance of the crucible 2...how is this an entrance? I am much too big to fit in that tiny hole they call an entrance, I eventually made it inside, but I'm sure glad we have recallers so I don't have to crawl back out, and it was like a 200ft drop that's ridiculous. We've gotta find a new place to get in cause that ain't right right there. Well Akash gave me some light again and I made my way slowly down eventually. Luckily I brought a climbing kit or I magine I wouldn't be writing this here report. I tell you what though, if Miss V were able to reincarnate I'd say she was a monkey in a past life with how naturally she took to climbing down that rope. Twas a sight to see. Well we began searching around inside that hole and after a bit found some kobolds that...were drunk? And the constructs that made them drunk turned to attack us! Well now I hadn't ever seen no construct that was a beer bot, but I'm a little saddened I had to destroy it as it kept attacking my friends, sure would have liked to have made that friendly and have something that could bring around beer on my quests that would have been mighty nice. One of the bots was not giving the best brews, but good enough I spose. Well we had to finish em off and then we took care of the kobolds. I don't rightly know what they said as I don't speak draconic, but we found a vault and I was able to read some of the runes down there as they were written in an old-timey dwarven! You know maybe since I'm a bit older than these guys I was able to read it hahahaha. Well we opened up that there vault and inside it was a right samurai...bot? It did not care for us entering the vault so it attacked us, seemed like it was guarding something or someone as it fought as if not its life depended on it, but as if someone he loved's life depended on it. It brought me down mighty quick I think it was a bit of a tough match for me, but luckily I wasn't alone and Mister Aznyss and Miss V and Mister Akash were able to finish it up before it took me out completely. Wellll then we managed to get whatever it was the kobolds were originally out there for. Not really sure what it is to be honest...but we followed them to their home, and ooooooo boy was it hot! too hot for this man tell you that! but I'm not bout to leave Miss V and the rest alone with a dragon egg and some kobolds that we don't really know so I stayed with them, probably lost about 10lbs in sweat though hahaha. They started asking questions and I think they got answered?
