Loose threads:
- Raul the Centaur. After we chased him off from harassing a former peer from the FAE, one of his dead companions bore a strange symbol. Raul is no doubt causing issues near First Landing and it would be interesting to find out which organization he is working with.
- Increasing attacks from the Horde throughout Coalition Territory. Coalition Troops being moved in significant numbers to attack the Republic.
- Oukra the Orc lays ill at Roanoake Camp.
- Demons causing issues along the roads of Coalition Territories. Led by a creature who simply goes by “D.”
Participants:
- Konnie Kitsune Cleric of Ashava
- Wolfram of Ulfsmund Human Guardian
- Igor Human Witch
- Gaulina Surprise Elf Fighter
- Kalimac Halfling Oracle
- Adzul Orc Rogue
Locations:
- Coalition Territories
- Roanokae Camp
- Elemental Portal Shrine
- Crater site in Coalition Territories
Short summary:
This group set out to investigate a crater site in Coalition Territories. We first did battle with a group of centaurs harassing a Shoony merchant along the road. Crossing through the portal we made our way to Roanokae Camp. There we helped the refugees for a night and obtained an array of information both important to our mission and otherwise. While attempting to wade across a river, our group was attacked by elementals bound through a demonic ritual. We found the demon responsible nearby and destroyed it. Finally, at the crater we came up against a large ooze hiding within the meteorite. Upon slaying the ooze, six gemstones were found among its remains. The meteorite also bore a strange symbol.

From the records of Adzul.
While looking over the various reports passing through First Landing my attention was drawn to one in particular. The report described a meteorite all the way on another continent in Coalition Territories. With recent and strange celestial events occurring, this site might provide further insight.
Altogether there were six of us who set out from First Landing: myself (Adzul), Kon, Igor, Gaulina, Kalimac and Wolfram. All were still unfamiliar to me at this time.
We had a trek before us as it was before we got to the site of interest. Five days journey by my counting. Plenty of time to feel out who these new folks were.
As we started on our way, Gaulina and Kon revealed that they were on this venture for reasons other than curiosity or money. Kon was concerned with the recent celestial happenings from a religious position being a Cleric of Ashava: The crack in the moon and a past venture of theirs to an ancient observatory where it was found some constellations no longer appeared above us. Gaulina’s concerns stemmed from a curse bound to her.
While on the road to the Elemental Portal Shrine, we saw a Shoony woman being pestered by a group of three Centaurs. These were burly creatures, but we weren’t ones to leave someone harassed like that. I attempted to take to the shadows. I don’t know what was happening that day, but I was prowling about like an elephant in brambles.
A genuine attempt was made to talk with the Centaurs but they were not willing to talk with my companions. So, battle ensued. The centaurs were stout and strong foes. We braced against their hooves as they barreled into us. Still, we brought two low while their leader fled.
The group checked in with the Shoony woman by the name of Catalina. She explained that the centaur’s leader is named Raul. The two of them had history going back to when she worked out of First Landing. Raul and Catalina both used to work for the Feudal Administration Enterprises (FAE) in First Landing until a misunderstanding led to both of them being kicked out of the organization. Raul still holds this against Catalina and continues to harass her to this day.
Needless to say, this bully Raul will need to be dealt with. I did find a patch on one of his companions. I am still a little unsure of the name attached to the insignia displayed on the patch. Something to do with Lamps, Lighthouse or Light Bearers. In any case, I am almost compelled to follow up on this. This sort of thread demands my attention and skillset.
We helped to repair Catalina's broken wagon and she repaid us in kind with food and drink.
The journey continued as we passed through the Portal Shrine and made our way to Roanokae Camp. Our intent was to gather information there before setting out again towards the crater.
While we were there we met with the young Rip and his father Kramp (the camp cook). Kramp was busy making stew for the many refugees at the camp. We all chipped in and helped cook and distribute bowls out to the many different peoples there. Here at the camp we learned several things while earning our keep for the night:
- Olog's Pact, a.k.a. The Horde has recently brought more violence against the Coalition Territories and the smaller number of Coalition troops may not be enough to hold them off any further. Many of the Coalition troops were sent east against the Republic of Jagriarius for some unknown reason.
- The meteorite in the crater was mined for all the adamantine in it. There are rumours of some sort of cult gatherings around the crater recently.
- Kramp’s wife (Oukra) has taken ill. We did what we could to alleviate her suffering, but that was all for the time being before a healer from New Hezrath found their way to the camp.
- Demons have been assaulting the road and are led by a red-coloured individual who wears a hat. They only go by the moniker “D.”
Well-rested, our group pushed into the wild as we traveled southeast. After a couple days we came to a river we started to cross. We saw some clues that all wasn’t as it should be. Some strange markings were spotted on the opposite side of the river. As we waded across, water Elementals attacked us against their will. I dodged my way around the water torrents to the opposite side towards these markings while the group tangled with the elementals. The markings were Abyssal in nature, tied to demons. The markings bordered a ditch which the river water flowed into. I began hacking at the dirt attempting to fill in the ditch to stop the flow of water and Gaulina came in to finish the job. The elementals came to their senses. They spoke with us though none of understood what gratitude or information they might be giving us.
Alerted to some nearby rustling in the grass we found a demonic worm creature. It was cursing us out in its own tongue for sabotaging its efforts. After not getting terribly far in questioning the creature Kon rid the world of its influence for good. I don’t think any of us called it out at the time. Upon reflection, this was likely a minion of this D character we learned about earlier.
Finally, we reached the crater. There the meteorite laid at its center. The site showed no immediate signs of recent activity. Some of us stayed up on the lip of the crater, some of us (myself included) moved down closer to the rock itself. Though as we got closer a large Ooze creature came out of hiding. It was black in colour, though with all sorts of shimmering lights within it. It came out with violent intent and we responded in kind.
A couple blows revealed that hitting this creature with piercing damage only caused it to split and attack in greater numbers. Not only that, it occasionally released a cloud of gas that put some of us to sleep. As we adapted our plan to fight the creature with different tactics, the combat swung in our group’s favour. The ooze collapsed and liquefied at our feet. The glimmers within it appeared to come from six uncut gemstones. Each was a different colour: red, purple, blue, green, yellow and orange.
Peering at the meteorite, I found a strange pattern. Five interconnected smaller nodes or circles with a singular large circle. We thought this may have something to do with the six gemstones now in our possession, but that idea bore no fruit.
This venture has left us with a few different avenues to explore in the future. While hunting down a thug of a Centaur is appealing to me, these celestial phenomena are likely more pressing.
