Short summary:
We escorted a large caravan comprised mostly of civilians, aided by Santana and what appeared to be newly recruited mercenaries equipped with brand new weaponry. The travel took place over 3 days. Though local wildlife posed problems, the true dangers were encountered in our last day of travel where an Ogre and Centaur seemed to command a large pack of wolves to attack us. We took the ogre down and captured the centaur alive. We fled from the ogre's brother after assessing the fighting resources we had left.

Work underway for establishing new civilian settlement, "Hush", in the Silent Forest.
A group of hopeful new arrivals to the New World have been successfully escorted to the outskirts of the Silent Forest where an older, abandoned outpost is being repaired and repurposed to act as a new farming community north of the Avis River.
The expedition, organized by one Grashton Krailt and led by commanders Santana and Flux, enlisted the help of the First Landing's adventurer's guild and a group of mercenaries to serve as defensive force and transportation experts. The expedition was successfully completed after approximately 4 days of travel.
Though the guild's and mercenary retinue managed to stave off encounters with local wildlife, the caravan was assaulted by an Ogre and Centaur leading a large pack of Dire Wolves. Despite the defensive retinue's best efforts, the attack resulted in the deaths of farmer Resharan Melinder and craftsman Robert 'Bob' Jenkins. They died assisting the adventurer's guild and mercenary forces, defending the more vulnerable members of the caravan as they helped others make their way across the Avis River. Some minor material loss of the caravan's supply was also accrued as a result of the attack.
The cowardly attack was coordinated by an unidentified group lead by an Ogre and Centaur. The defensive retinue retaliated with deadly force on the Ogre and subdued the Centaur for further interrogation. The expedition was led to safety before a third assailant was able to catch up with the caravan. The identity and motives of the third attacker remain unknown, though he is known to have been the brother of the defunct ogre.
The new settler of Hush have started urgent operations to repair and reinforce the settlement before the arrival of winter. The atmosphere at the new town of Hush is a mixture of hope, mourning, and wariness. Our correspondents will continue to monitor the situation and report.
Editor's Notes
This job, on which I participated in accordance to my obligations to the Adventurer's Guild, provided me with the invaluable perspective of seeing how the backbone of our organization and livelihood, usually dismissively referred to as our "commoners", struggles just as much or even more than the adventurer's.
Though it is true that us adventurers venture out and face against strange, terrifying darkness on a regular basis, our farmers, weavers blacksmiths, surveyors, miners, loggers, all face it too as a part of their daily lives. It puts our bravery on a scale against those who fight alongside us while supplying us with the supplies and services I think we too often take for granted.
With that in mind, please keep in mind the people of Hush suffered the great loss of two of their group. The men who died leave behind families, and it is up to us to see they are cared and provided for. "It takes a village" my pops used to say, and a village we will make.
Hopefully I've convinced you of the importance of our humbler members. So I encourage you to actively support their efforts, adventurers. We have the monetary means, the skills, and the strength to help our flourishing civilization grow. There's no big glory on it, or much if any money in it, but it is this one's opinion that it is our duty all the same.
