Why is Borko on Zar-Mothet?
What's this strange metal?
Party:
Summary:
What's this black metal, and why can't we touch it? Good question! We still don't know....
Full Report:
Before heading out, a tiefling named Alissa hands the party members magical ribbons, which they determine to be memory ribbons. She also informs them that a guild ship has been secured for their voyage, as learning more about this mysterious metal has become a priority and the party is requested to try to acquire more. It's making members of the guild angry, and they want to know why.
The island (Zar-Mothet) has been determined to be a part of a chain of islands, with Zar-Mothet being the largest. The guild has determined this, so I guess this is where we're going?
The party arrives near the island to find two dragons fighting - one pitch black, the other a smaller blue-green dragon with scales that match the sea. The larger dark dragon latches onto the smaller, flings it into the sea and departs.
We ventured closer to the smaller dragon, to offer it aid. It's unsure and swims ashore until asking why the party is offering aid and to identify themselves as friend or foe. On seeing two kobolds in the party, the dragon relaxes.
We learn the dragon's name is Muriathrax and the larger is Xalvyrith. Muriathrax asks the party to investigate a great shadow that covered the island, which Xalvyrith failed to stop. Maruiathrax says "A piece of what was sundered was reuinted once more" - likely a reference to The Unbound gaining a shard.
It is suggested the party seek out the Guardian tribe for more information, and they are also warned that a third dragon, Ghaur'mul, is also present and should be avoided.
While venturing inland, the party rests for the night, during which time a giant dinosaur sneaks up on them. The dinosaur is, fortunately, dispatched before causing *too much trouble*. Pita gets his rear handed to him, but wreaks havoc on the dinosaur in the process. While Pita takes a relaxing nap, the rest of the party finishes the task. Injera even used the correct part of his face, this time!
After dispatching the dinosaur, a black kobold named Gardet appears and begins burning the remnants of the dinosaur. The kobold recognizes Brorn. He chastizes the party for not burning the remnants. He wants the party to help clean up the mess some from First Landing have made, in releasing the shard of The Unbound.
Gardet leads the party to his clan's cave, where they meet Pumpkernickel, another member. Pumpernickel offers a dagger of the mysterious black metal to each of Pita and Injera. They accept. This was a mistake and they begin to squabble. Previously Pita had handled the raw ore. Refined.....it's something - a full blast of anger overcomes both Pita and Injera. Fortunately, Pumpernickel takes the daggers back before things get too out of hand.
Pumpernickel asks for help in dealing with a beast that just will not leave him alone. The party agrees and discovers it's a chimera. With the aid of the Guardians, the chimera is taken down.
Then....Borko appears? What is Borko doing here?
Finis.
