The M1917 Enfield, often referred to as the "American Enfield", is an American bolt-action rifle. It is essentially a rechambering of the Pattern 1914 Enfield into .30-06 Springfield, brought about by America's entry to World War I on the Entente's side. Though a great deal of M1903 Springfield rifles existed in American arsenals, there was an enormous need for new weapons. Enfield rifle factories were retooled and began mass-producing .30-06 versions of the same rifle, though instead of being exported to Britain, these would arm millions of newly mobilised Americans. These versions of the rifle are not that uncommon in Oceanyka, as the M1 Garand began displacing bolt-action rifles in every role in the American arsenal.
