The Hunting Bow is one of the most traditional weapons of the Aboriginals which, as its name implies, is primarily meant for hunting game. It was, however, extensively used as a weapon of war during Oceanykan antiquity. While not as powerful as later bows, its strength lies in its rugged, lightweight construction and relative ease of use. Hunting bows can be crafted in the bush, but this requires a certain knowledge of fieldcraft.

Shortbows are the weapon by excellence of survivalists and hunter-gatherers. Their low draw weight and fragile construction is countered by ease of use and a much greater reaction time.

This weapon may automatically perform Reaction Fire (1 AP) against any enemy creature that enters within Close Range, in any turn.
