The Blueprint is the holy grail of engineering. It is a general term for any engineering plan, be it for buildings, infrastructure, or mechanical products such as vehicles, tools and weapons. While the traditional "literally blue" print is only used in Oceanyka in the mid-1960s, replaced by the more legible whiteprint and electronic xerographic prints across the world, the latter of which has the advantage of being workable in a digital computer, the term "blueprint" refers to any of these technologies, as their purpose is ultimately the same.

In the mid-1960s, information and technology are power. While the blueprints of menial tools and antique weaponry are openly available to anyone with the necessary contacts, acquiring those of modern machines is exponentially harder. Industrial espionage is an easy way to get hunted down by both national and foreign agents.

Gameplay

The blueprint allows characters with a sufficient knowledge in the practical trades to craft any item, provided they have the materials, tools and expertise to do so.

All blueprints must describe exactly what they contain. For example, a "Blueprint of AKM" dictates the specific technical, dimensional and material characteristics of the AKM rifle, and as such, allows a skilled machinist to replicate it.
