🐀 Perrit "Knives" Vell
Halfling Thief (Level 2)
"I don't steal from the dead... unless they’re rude enough to die on top of something valuable."
🧭 Background & Motivation
Perrit Vell—"Knives" to his dwindling circle of contacts—is a slippery, resourceful halfling thief who once worked as a contract runner for The Wheelmarked. He’s quick with a blade, quicker with a lie, and has a knack for finding both trouble and the treasure just beneath it.
He was recently separated from a small looting crew after sneaking ahead in Level 3C. While scouting what he hoped was an unspoiled pantry, he encountered the putrid air of Room 14 and promptly vomited his soul out… only to be ambushed and paralyzed by giant toads attracted to the scent.
🐸 Encounter 80 Recap
Found bound in a slime-drenched net, being dragged by two Giant Toads as they return to their lair. He is barely conscious but flicks his eyes meaningfully toward the party when spotted.
If rescued, Perrit is grateful—but not humble.
🗝️ What He Wants
Perrit was hunting the corpse of a fallen paladin, said to have carried serious loot before dying in the Pantry (Room 3C-14). The dead man is:
⚔️ Sir Cadros of the Quiet Flame
A Lawful Good paladin who vanished weeks ago while seeking to cleanse Stonehell’s halls of corruption. Cadros was no friend to thieves—but his armor, gear, and stash of coin and gems are worth enough to tempt even the cautious.
Perrit carries a potion of Neutralize Poison (cracked vial, but intact) and plans to use it to enter the Pantry, where others have failed.
If rescued, he’ll offer the party a 50/50 split, in exchange for helping him get in, loot the corpse, and get out alive.

6 gems (3×10 gp, 50 gp, 100 gp, and 1000 gp)
