St. Ras the Radiant

🛡️ St. Ras, the Radiant Oathkeeper

Saint of Duty, Fidelity, and Sacred Task
Demi-Power of Pure Devotion
Alignment: Lawful

📜 Lore & Origin

St. Ras was once a mortal knight—a devout ascetic who lived and died in absolute service to duty. He never broke an oath, never strayed from his path, and lived a life of chaste endurance in the pursuit of justice, order, and fidelity. Upon his death, his unwavering commitment was rewarded with apotheosis, elevating him to sainthood as a divine example of lawful perseverance.

Now counted among the divine powers, Ras offers guidance and spiritual strength to those who undertake great quests or burdens of duty. He appears most often to mortals who seek to accomplish one monumental task, whether it be a crusade, an oath of vengeance, a lifelong vow, or a selfless promise.

👑 Depiction

St. Ras is depicted as a solemn, armored knight standing tall, his face never shown. His helm gleams with a radiant crown of golden light, not ornamented with gems but with rays of divinity that form a perfect ring. His armor is austere and unadorned save for etched oaths and seals of binding. One hand bears a sword tip-down in the earth, while the other is raised in the gesture of sacred vow.

In statues and shrines, his back is always to a gate, door, or threshold—forever the guardian between order and chaos.

Holy Garb of St. Ras

“The helm may shield the head, but the vow shields the soul.”
Litany of the Long Watch

Clerics of St. Ras dress not for beauty, but for solemn function. Their garments are as unyielding as their devotion, and each piece marks a deeper step into spiritual commitment. Their garb serves as spellcasting foci, and no divine spell may be prepared or cast without bearing the proper vestments.

⛓️ Rules for Divine Focus in St. Ras’s Faith

  • Spellcasting Restriction: Clerics must wear or carry their holy garb to prepare and cast divine spells.

  • Defilement or Loss: If the garb is damaged or removed, spells of that level cannot be prepared until proper atonement or replacement is performed.
