⚔️ Vaughn, the Red-Handed Sage
God of War, Conflict, and the Craft of Battle
Greater Deity of Martial Understanding
Alignment: Neutral
📜 Lore & Origin
Vaughn is the god of battle in all its forms—not only the clash of sword and shield, but the tension before the first charge, the quiet grief afterward, and the long memory of scars. He does not incite war, nor does he seek peace. Vaughn is war: its chaos, its clarity, its devastation, and its artistry.
He once walked the world openly, hammering weapons on anvils, dining with generals, and burying the dead alongside gravediggers. But Vaughn grew quiet with age. Though his power has never waned, he now walks alone across the heavens, painting frescos of fallen warriors, sculpting weapons that will never be used, and listening to the echoes of ancient battlefields.
His followers revere him not only as a patron of warriors, but as a philosopher of strife—one who teaches what it costs to take up arms.
🩸 Depiction
Vaughn is shown as a massive, red-haired man with a braided beard, a great brawny frame, and eyes like burnt steel. His hands are calloused and often smeared with blood, clay, or ink. He wears battered half-plate armor over a faded red tunic, and is often shown wielding or forging a massive, ornate two-handed sword, its blade nicked and rusted with use.
Despite his imposing form, his expression is often thoughtful, even wistful—like a blacksmith remembering the first sword he ever broke.
