Corellon Larethian, Firstborn Flame

šŸŒ™ Corellon Larethian, the Firstborn Flame

Creator of the Elves, Lord of the Seldarine, Patron of Magic and Art
Greater Deity of the Elves and the Moonlit Path
Alignment: Neutral
Worshipped Only By: Elves (including grey, wood, and high elves; rarely half-elves)

šŸ“œ Lore & Origin

Corellon Larethian is the origin of the Tel'Quessir, the elven race, and the ever-shifting heart of their art, wisdom, and sorrow. Neither fully male nor female, warrior nor bard, his form is a living embodiment of the elven ideal—fluid, graceful, and radiant with immortal purpose. He is the god of both sword and song, the painter of the stars, and the keeper of the high magics that shaped the fey. His blood, spilled in ancient battles, is said to have seeded the first elves, and his sighs became the winds of Arvandor.

Though majestic and powerful, Corellon walks the world cloaked in moonlight and mystery, often observing his people in secret, favoring those who create beauty, protect elven lands, or rekindle ancient arts. He despises the Shadow Weave and drowish betrayal, yet offers distant grace to those few dark elves who truly seek redemption.

🌠 Depiction

Corellon appears as a tall, androgynous elf of golden skin and sky-colored eyes, clad in a flowing cloak of blue starlight. His most common symbols are the crescent moon, the eight-pointed star, or a longsword wrapped in ivy. His amulet—a crescent within a circle—is always seen on his avatars, along with dazzling silver gauntlets and an expression both proud and wise.

šŸ›• Worship & Doctrine

  • Temples: Elven shrines often appear as groves of white trees, crystal towers, or stone amphitheaters open to the stars. No idol is permitted—beauty is his statue, and the faithful offer song, poetry, and crafted works instead of gold.

  • Clergy Titles: Starpriests, High Luthiers, Swordchanters

  • Holy Days:

    • Moonrise Rite (first full moon of spring)

    • The Day of Blossoming Blood (commemorating his battle with Gruumsh)

    • The Sighing Evening (equinox vigil honoring lost realms)

  • Holy Symbol: A crescent moon within a full circle, often worn as an amulet

  • Sacred Animal: The white hart (stag) and silver falcon

🦌 Tenets of the Faithful

Corellon’s doctrine teaches that life is art, and that to live as an elf is to strive for beauty, grace, and wisdom. His followers must:

  • Defend elven lands, culture, and traditions without falling to arrogance

  • Practice and refine an art, whether craft, magic, music, or battle

  • Revere the moon, especially as a source of hidden knowledge and change

  • Refuse to defile the dead or use the Shadow Weave

  • Welcome transformation—gender, purpose, and expression are sacred
