đ Father Yg, the Serpent of Secrets
Lesser God of Ambition, Corruption, and Forbidden Power
Alignment: Chaotic
Domains: Chaos, Evil, Trickery, Animal
Symbol: A snake coiled around a gold coin
đ Lore & Origin
Father Yg is the coiled god of secret power, the whisperer of shortcuts, and the patron of those whose ambition outweighs their restraint. He is venerated by the Children of Yg, a decentralized cult comprised of ancient snakemen from southern jungles and morally bankrupt humans from cold northern cities. His cult always returnsâthriving in complacencyâs shadowâreborn wherever greed festers and desire outpaces patience.
Why worship a snake god? Because Yg offers what others deny: power now. He is the god of quicker, easier, more seductive pathsâof knowledge without wisdom, strength without discipline. His teachings are poison candy: sweet with success, fatal to the soul. In death, his worshippers have no paradise; their eternal price is spiritual extinction. But for many, the thrill of ascension outweighs the terror of oblivion.
In low-lit taverns and corrupt marketplaces, Yg is also a game with a spiral-board. His priests use it to seek new followers, sensing rage, fear, and hunger in every move across the board.
đźď¸ Depiction
Father Yg appears as a regal humanoid serpent: golden-scaled, sinuous, and crowned with coiled horns. His eyes are coinsâspinning, hypnotic, and cold. He may wear a robe of royal silk that sheds like skin or appear in dreams as a coiled wyrm speaking in riddles. His voice is calm, but always probing.
In iconography, his holy symbol is a serpent twined around a gold coinâoften clutched by false prophets and worn as rings by secret cultists.
