This sphagnum bog along the Heort Creek is sacred to Engizi the Skyriver Titan. It forms part of the clan’s sacred space, its tula. A place of sucking peat and quicksand, the sacred paths through the bog are treacherous, made more so by the constant swirling mist. The initiated do not share the trackways with those who do not follow Heler or Engizi.
Those traveling here must sacrifice at the threshold when crossing into the marsh. Fine swords, elaborate broaches, silver torcs, and golden armbands lie beneath the water, granting safe passage. Heler would curse any who stole his tribute, taking their fertility from them until they atoned.
